Jurina's energy on stage is really something else. I feel like newer songs don't have such intense choreographies like in Pareo wa Emerald anymore. I actually felt a bit of her youthful energy in those performances, like her early performances. She looked very tired the past couple of years.

There are no other words on the Keyholder PDF, so hard to say what to expect.

 

Hi, for those who don't know me, I usually post on Sakamkchi and IZ*ONE threads but given the recent news I can't help talking about this.

Honestly, I was expecting rebranding news from NMB because of their new system. But given that SKE did it first, I can't help thinking that the management from the other 48 groups are thinking about rebranding too.

I think management wants a to make a big change in SKE to think a rebranding is necessary, what if SKE is leaving the AKB48G? And what if other groups are thinking of doing the same? I guess we will know what will happen in some hours.

 

A group build around 1 girl who change it's name / image when the said girl leaves, doesn't it look like Keyakizaka becoming Sakurazaka ?

 

Except that SKE has done pretty well without Jurina already during her absence. I think the situation is different here, even though I'm afraid Keyholder see's it more like you.
I personally don't want them to change their name/logo, at the moment I'm not convinced it would help them in any way

 

I'm confused on what to think about this too.
And depsite different situations (keyholder financial report is everything but negative), the moves are so much similiar.
"End of an era ==> let's get rid of it"

Usually, rebrands / image changes are used in a way to erase a negative past or build something completly different.
Maybe Keyholder isn't happy with how SKE48 was build and they want now to push their own concept.
The move isn't without risks though.

 

I feel like AKB48 to some degree and especially STU48 have strayed away from teams and moved towards units much more now.

AKB48 is still doing team stages, but IxR is the first unit (that I can think of) that has their own stage. Also, Honey Harmony is doing regular youtube night time livestreams and Huetones, IxR and Melisma have performed separately at festivals (Tokyo Idol Festival, Tokyo Idol Project, Music Gate).

Every single STU48 member is part of one of its (thematic) units. They've also performed in units at festivals.

I have always really liked units in all 48 groups, and I think units are a good way for people to get to know members. SKE48 haven't had any units since Love Crescendo (not counting those one-off units for b-sides) and I think they could really benefit from it.

p4u ending is really sad. the game (though calling it game is an insult to actual games) gave less popular members a chance at some decent rewards.
