I pre-ordered Hirari's PB and got an e-mail this morning saying my delivery might get delayed, but that's not the important news, the book now has a title and appropriately, it's called "Tiffany".

I just pre-ordered, as well. The book was $32 from cdJapan and I chose expedited shipping. (I absolutely HATE waiting weeks for a photo book delivery). The site said book release was scheduled for mid-November.

@Merlin54, Two things. One, thanks much for the photo book update. Very very much appreciated. And two, as for the picture,-------WOW. You're getting a lot more and lot better information from your supplier than I'm getting from mine. cdJapan isn't giving out a title or an exact date or size or anything as of yet. It is saying the book is 80 pages, but that's all they are revealing. 80 pages is a little thin for a photo book, so I'm hoping the book is oversized.

This is from Amazon JP. According to the publisher it's A4 and, yeah, 80pp is a bit slim for a book costing GBP35 delivered UK.

It's ironic. Hirari was, I believe, largely unknown to so many AKB fans (myself included) during her run in the group. She never ranked and was simply known as the half American/half Japanese girl who spoke perfect English and could serve as translator for the group whenever they made their infrequent forays to English-speaking countries. This book could, quite literally, establish her career as a gravure model. She's a lovely girl who has that interesting, almost unique, look about her and, obviously, a killer body. It would be great to see her use that relatively minor AKB notoriety and turn it into a lucrative modeling career. Good for her.

 

JFC 5 years in AKB and only appeared in AKBINGO a total of 8 times. I only started noticing her in the AKB48 vs JKT48 in Jakarta episode and that is apparently the final one she is in.

 

You're absolutely correct in that management certainly didn't promote her during her time in the group. That's for sure. Maybe if AKB was pushed more in the U.S. and other English-speaking counties, then, perhaps, she would have been much more prominent, but we all know that was never going to happen.

 

Correct me if I am wrong but it seems like at the top of the Futabasha link it says
DVD and photo collection
Rina Hirata photo book "Tiffany". Although dvd appears nowhere in the lower description. Might the higher price be due to an included dvd? Which would be nice.

A lot of H!P photobooks come with 30 minute "making of" dvd's, maybe it's something like that.

 

So, you're telling me that these off-shot pictures AREN'T GOOD ENOUGH to be included in the book???????????? Wow.
