What's the point? o_O... I thought love was about feelings.
And of course, I don't see why if I love a girl, what that girl feels about me has to do anything about how I feel about her....

(" I love you because you love me " ( o_O???? no space in my book, lol ))

Besides... I don't think it matters because what she loses from one "side", she gains on the other one.

    ¿no? x_x?

but people love the idea of their idols being gay XD. yeah its totally insane but at least what i've been told by JE fans and related

it's something like; "i already know i won't ever be with him, so i prefer him to be gay because it feels like no matter what, it was impossible for us to be together anyway. and i won't jealous of a guy being with him (in fact it's what i want). but with a girl its just impossible to not feel jealousy..."

i'm sure its the same the other way around with female idols.

personally since i read it i was like "lol that's one amazing joke to make XD" but people are being so serious about it that i started to wonder if it might be true :fear:. but nah it's impossible. if it were true there would be MILLIONS of articles and reports about it. and i doubt idols can even say they are gay in the first place. not even bisexual and that's way more marketable.

oh, and kanako doesn't even look lesbian D= lol. and that would be a really random way to come out lol

I thought people liked the idea of JE boys or whoever being gay because they think two guys together are hot XD

Anyway. I did some google searches and I didn't find any news articles about it or anything, but it's been on her wikipedia page for a couple of days now...I'm surprised that it's not everywhere.

I'm interested in how this works out. I'm all for gay rights and all, but from an idol point of view, it truly can be a bad thing since she could lose wota. But I don't know how they'll respond. Maybe she'll gain a big lesbian fan base?

AHEM. That's not how it works.

    Look? It's a sexuality, not a style.

I really don't think the management would let her come out even if she was a lesbian since she'd lose a lot of fans...

no no don't get me wrong XD what i was trying to say is that i never thought of her as lesbian. i didn't mean "looks" as in "stereotypical lesbian look" (because there's nothing that bothers me more than when people stereotype gay people z_z), just that she never gave me such impression.

For those fans that would abandon her instead of supporting her...

    "better to lose them".

I think she'd have a bigger fanbase if she didn't come out, because I don't think a lesbian fanbase would outnumber her current one.

Isn't homosexuality a taboo subject in Japan? I would be really surprised if the management allowed her to come out, since I can't think of any idols that have...

Obviously, I don't think there'd be anything wrong with her coming out even if she indeed was a lesbian, I just don't think her management would allow her to do it.

I give them the benefit of the doubt.
If none has done it before, then we can't know how much impact would it be.
Now if you tell me: Yes, X girl once did it, and she was forgotten, abandoned by everyone and died of hungry and cold all alone by herself in a dark alley at the... well... you get the idea, then: Yes, none in her senses would say something like that unless "times change"...

but if she is the first one, why couldn't it work????

And yes, it's a taboo thing...
but the whole theme is taboo in a lot of places.... even in my country...
and even in my country, gay/lesbian singers has succeed...

but yeah, my country isn't japan...

but, again... if she is the first one...

It was a joke. Yes, the wiki part is real but that's what lead to the joke from what i understand. I translated a little with Manatsu-Masana MC. Check out the concert thread.

    * And if you're talking about coming out. Jurina said a lot of times that she likes girls (not specifically of course). And she still has a lot of fans.

Yeah, but Jurina's 13, who also ever since she was 11 was able to convince anyone that she was 18. She was raised around idols for years now who have gotten more than friendly.
Basically if a kid tells you they like other kids their own gender, you usually just assume it's a phase.
