A new blog from Chima today. As usual after the Senbatsu announcement, it is filled with self reflection.

Of course, I am not satisfied with my current position, and I won’t change aiming for higher!

at this stage its very difficult for her to get into senbatsu..

 

I am starting to believe it is near impossible. If you're a 1st gen and not locked into Senbatsu at the moment, you're basically f*cked (and 2nd gen isn't much better).
New spots will be given to promising 3rd and 4th gen members. And that's understandable.

But even though Chima has gained a lot of momentum over the last 2 years, the timing is somewhat unfortunate. It's frustrating because it feels she has been so close to a more stable spot. Between the 17th and 20th single in which she made 3rd row, she also subbed a lot for absent members. But it didn't reward her something more permanent.

Why? I don't know. And I am not the right person to ask, because I love this girl and everything that she does so I am not objective.

I guess the only chance at a future Senbatsu spot is a mass graduation, but that's a long shot and something I do not want to happen.

But like Chima herself said in her latest blog, "it doesn't mean that there is nothing". So I'm going to hope for her being Under center, and hope that finally gets her long wished unit song!

There was an interview with Hinachima published on Nikkan Gendai this week. I thought it would be mostly food related, because of the title and the fact that it ends with an actual recipe, but I was pleasantly surprised by how many little things about her youth I came to know. It's a short but very nice read.

My father rushed to my room, started banging on my door, angrily said “how dare you speak like that!” and dragged me out of my room with force.
