We'll see what happens but the simplest solution seems to be to split them up though. They could just do Republic every year. At least it sounds simple. Since they share so many resources I'm not sure how easy it is.

It's not like they work closely together to begin with. And if Sony can have another successful idol group I don't see why not.

Hiragana sounded like a dumb idea but Nogizaka-style under is a horrible idea. They exist only to prop up members who are selected. They have no theater to perform in and get no work besides handshakes so they have little chance to improve or capture fans. And we have little idea why they are selected.

I hope when we see Keyakizaka senbatsu there is some actual reason we can point to as to why they are selected. Even AKB style voting would be better I think.

Hiragana Keyakizaka46's 1st Album (Hashiridasu Shunkan) (1st Week Sales)
    Week 1:
    154,461

    https://www.oricon.co.jp/news/2114325/full/

(@ForrestFuller take note about "Hiragana Keyakizaka46" for subsequent weeks to come)

Looks like the numbers were where I was expecting. Congratulations Hiragana Keyaki!

Hiragana Keyaki also took #1 in the digital album sales with 4,280 official downloads (full album, probably the 'Complete Edition'; though, to be honest, that's not much compared to physical sales).

Is it just me, or did you just say out the same total numbers as what Oricon officially reported??? (To be clear, you said this before Oricon officially said the actual weekly numbers.)

I mean, when was the last time Oricon daily day 1 + day 2 + day 3 + day 4 + day 5 + day 6 reported sales numbers = Oricon weekly reported sales numbers to an exact match???

@ryandtw i only add day1 to day6 to get the total and i didnt got a chance to read the final number reported by Oricon. typically the weekly sales reported by Oricon got some final adjustment so it doesnt equal to the first 6 days sales.

1st week sales from Billboard was 152,603 copies

Is it just me or the very first scene, what's her name? Sasaki Mirei? She kinda look like a very young Takamina? :)

I can see Takamina but all I see is more feminine version of Tecchi esp when they perform

Appreciate the album review post, @gocchisama - even if I may not agree with all the points, it was well-written & interesting read.

I do also hope there's kanji/hiragana collaboration of some sort in the future. That would be fascinating to see how far the 2 groups have come.

After listening to the album more I can't get over how good that Senkou Hanabi...song is. I really hope to see it performed one day cause it's definitely my fav song on the album. And that 2nd gen song Mijuku is really good (I think they performed it on AKBshow right?). I don't know much about 2nd gen, but the center girl is really pretty.

Just came back from hiraganas concert in Nagoya. It was amazing! Love this group.

The ending song and main theme song of Hiragana is Yakusoku no Tamago!

They didn't. I'm sure you're thinking of Hanbun no Kioku instead. But yeah I'm not sure how I feel about Kosaka (the center) being pushed though

Oh yea they didn't, my bad, thx for the correction. Well, both of those songs are really good lol. I really should learn more about 2nd gen lol. Do we know who is the most popular so far in 2nd gen is? Is it Kosaka?

A couple 2nd gens are about tied in popularity. Kosaka, Miho, Miku, and Hina. Kosaka and Miho are the 2nd gens being pushed right now. Kosaka is the 2nd gen the internet seems most excited about. Also, all of them are in the top ten most popular in the whole group by the looks of it.
