Hiragana Keyakizaka46 1st Album [Hashiridasu Shunkan]「走り出す瞬間」 [18/06/20]

So they're really going for the Light and Dark Keyakizaka concept. I like it.

The covers are fantastic, very refreshing! And hurray for Mirei as center! I did not expect that one. Looking forward to what she can bring as center.

Sometimes though, with Mirei's cute face, I tend to forget that she is one of the taller members. Maybe that's just me lol

All the best to Hiragana. I hope they will be invited to music stations, interviews etc. Then that would really solidify them as a separate group.

 

Seeing the differentiation of Kanji and Hiragana has become this intense where they already have Yin & Yang image, I think it's better for Hiragana to stay as different team, not as "Under".

I don't expect promotion from Hiragana to Kanji, I prefer them to do team shuffle in the future

 

There's a lot of people in 5ch/Stage48 who do not see Kyoko as center. I really cannot understand it.

Her voice and speaking style is more likely a memorable charm point than a weakness. She's clearly the most overall talented members in Keyakizaka (singing, dancing, acting, visuals, expressiveness, variety...). She one of the most attractive even including 2nd gen. She's 20 but Hiragana is closer to Nogi and Nogi fans prefer the older girls. She has centered twice already including a 20 member song. Finally, her handshake sales are still quite a bit higher than any other member.

I imagine we will see her at center often. At the very least she will likely never leave the front row or front three since she is often utilized for her visuals and backing vocals. As we see in this song. When Neru was around Kyoko's talents were underutilized. When Neru left and they went for a stronger focus on vocals in Soredemo Aruiteru I believe Kyoko become essential.

Sadly, this is a bit of a rant. But I really cannot fathom any solid argument against Kyoko being the face of the group. I really like this song by the way. Mirei/Kyoko/Katoshi match really well vocally.

 

Certainly, her height is her biggest weakness. Mirei is a very strong idol. I loved her in Ima ni. There's too much talent in Hiragana for Kyoko to absolutely dominate. But we will see a lot of her I'm sure.

 

At least I get to see all their faces clearly in the album artworks.

Japanese comments have been seeing this possibility, too, but I don't think so. They have too much value there in Kanji, and too much invested. I think they just believe they can get Hiragana up on a similar level, so they're going all-out for them right now. I expect Hirate to come back and dominate late summer, but even if she doesn't come back, I think (and hope) Kanji will keep climbing the hill. But Hiragana is very, very talented....

18 new songs! Wow. Terrific detailed summary from @too much idea above shows that every member gets at least 7 songs, Mirei-Kyonko-MeiMei-Takase-Miho-Paripi 8, Katoshi 9. Solos from Katoshi-Mirei-Kyonko. And Memi gets the "cute idol song" she wanted, the duet with MiiPan ("Magic Girls" unit name?) on I Want to Ride a Tricycle. The only duet. Four trios: Katou-Mana-Mei, plus the 2gens split into three trios. A rich feast.

A dozen hours ago, they posted unexplained video promos with Kumi holding a sign with the number 18 on it, and Miho answering what her age is (18). One Japanese comment nailed it: 18 songs. Not an announcement at 6 o'clock, lol.

Tamago song will be played tonight (in less than a hour maybe) in Yuuka's radio.

No, Kanji Hiragana will be the two side of the same coin. Or twin siblings. Whatever image you like better. Publicly Kanji are probably more still more known but Nao's Seventeen, and her runway with Katoshi, then Hiragana in Kinki Kids's show are definitely good first steps.

 

Kanji members must be jealous of Hiragana 1st album with so many new songs !!!!!
