She began her singing career as a new member selected for AKB48's new team, but it was hard for Team 8 to make a name for itself among the teams in AKB48 that were already popular.

But despite her hard work, there were still people who have never even heard of Hitomi's team. It was so hard to get known.

Plus, Hitomi's team (Team 8) was sponsored by Japanese car company Toyota, but ironically, Hitomi's family name Honda was the name of Toyota's rival company, which resulted in less support from AKB48.

Sakura and Nako of IZ*ONE had been ranked high in the General Election and gained popularity, but Hitomi was so unpopular she couldn't even partake in the General Election.

Always so accurate and well-informed.

I was wondering about those points of the video as well... like what? Team 8 is super popular within AKB48. Hitomi was overlooked not because Team 8 was flopping but because there were loads of Team 8 members that were more popular.

And not being able to partake in the election...? Later they even mentioned that she ranked.

 

She never missed an election come on now.

 

I understand that people in Korea (or K-Pop fans) don't have to know everything that happened during her Team 8 career nor they have to know the details. After all, when you oshi an AKB girl that has been in the business for a long time you will never get to know all of her past, even if you watch parts of it.

What pisses me off a bit is how everyone in the K-Pop fandom (well, IZ*ONE's) that didn't know her before or cared about AKB created this one narrative where Team 8 and eitos are the lowest of lowest, below any girl from other AKB teams (even Nagano Megumi or Michieda Saki). And that Hii was a desperate girl, about to end up doing drugs, before she saw the light. While we're at it, she probably ranked in 2018 thanks to the first Produce 48 episode broadcasted on the eve.

And these videos have so many likes and people believe in everything they say.
