Using 'will' or 'would' does no better since your sentence expressed the idea that September 30th hasn't past—which has long has. Maybe its September 30th of the year 2014 now, that would make your statement rather correct, the wait, aww.

I think it is funny that the thread was posted September 11th, with the expectation the changes would happen only 19 days later... and here we are almost 90 days later and no updates
I wonder what happened.

 

Maybe they're trying to imitate aki-p and his new stages announcement. Guess we'll see changes in February 2015 then.
