Jiina was unranked in 2017 and she was 53rd with 19,377 votes in 2016.

I wonder what happen.... I think Jiina could copy what Akarin does and be a Youtuber to make a comeback for 2018. #Youtuber

 

It shocks me too. It's not like Jiina only has a pity fan base like Komiharu either. I don't understand how Jiina couldn't rank in the preliminaries AND the actual event :/ How did she lose so many votes that she can't even be in the Top80 which is only 15K

I don't get it neither!It's not like she was in a scandal!She got a lower rank last year but she really plumed!

 

The problem with using YouTube or Showroom is that she's not nearly as interesting when she's alone… she's by far at her best with a partner, much like a manzai combi. If she could find someone willing, that would be rocking.

 

Last years was a big surprise because people such as Sasshi thought she would rise to the 30-20 range, but fell all the way to 53. When I learned that she didn't rank in prelims, I thought it would be a real possibility that she wouldn't rank. Once it happened, I just thought something was wrong.

Jiina is one of the prettiest girls in HKT, but maybe the conceited and funny image she plays works well in TV doesn't translate well in HS? I've been trying to read up on HS reports throughout the year and nothing seemed out of the ordinary, except that she didn't seem to be very popular. It's one of the strangest rise and falls in HKT.

 

Strange, IIRC lots of Japanese people are complaining on survey about 48G don't have any pretty members anymore. Yet, here she are, unranked. What happened?

 

Around before her rank there were these talks about big spender fans switching to her from Yoshida Akari. I remember this because there was this one guy among them that Japanese fans called the Red Uncle, someone who bought a ton of votes.

Anecdotal of course, but I do think it illustrates a bit of cross-pollination between the two. Not in the least bc they look alike. So with Akari rising so high and Jiina totally dropping out, I think that might be a factor too.

 

@DeJure thanks for this info and looks like Red Uncle really switched from Jiina to Yoshida Akari. I wonder how many boxes of CDs he brought for SSK.

Yoshida Akari gained 13,512 votes from 2016 and ranked 16th place with 35,540 votes.

 

This year might not be Jiina's year at all She was first dropped from that Sasshi centered A-side after plenty of consecutive appearances, didn't rank in SSK, and now also dropped from the new single. I really hope that management will still give her a chance </3 One of the prettiest members in the 48G, hands down.
