Here's a short video from the UNLAME fansign event from a week ago! The video starts with all the girls but then it focuses on Hina She looks so pretty and cute with the twintails! and that pink suit is making her look like a rich lady haha. She was doing cute poses and expressions the whole time, a perfect idol She's adorable

Hina made a tweet to celebrate the one year anniversary since the 18th gen theater debut on 2nd July last year!
I found it funny because she said "I'm 2 minutes late", she posted this on 3rd July at 00:02 (Japan date/time), haha

 

UNLAME released their new song a few days ago and I love Hina's styling, she looks sooo cute with this outfit and hair!!

She also looks very cute in the music video ^^ The video is very bright and colorful, it's fun to watch! I love Hina's parts with the colorful animated background. and also at the dancing parts, around the end at 2:52 it's focused on her and she looks cool! Also, at the end during the credits, we see the girls cleaning the confettis (the UNLAME members and also the school girls who danced with them), and Hina was having fun throwing confetti at others, she's so cute haha.

So today it was announced that UNLAME will be disbanding on 10th January 2025...

I actually recently wanted to write something here about Hinano and UNLAME, and my thoughts on the subunit, but I didn't get the time to do it. But yes basically what I wanted to say is that I've had mixed feelings about UNLAME for a long time! At first, I was against the OO48 show (I still think the show itself was a mess honestly...) then they revealed the final results, I still remember that I was quite surprised that Hinano made it. I'm not sure why, I didn't expect it! I got a little interested in the subunit at their debut because it had some of my favs. At that time, Hinano was among the new gens who got my interest, but I didn't consider her as one of my favorites yet... and actually, UNLAME gave me more reasons to like her. when they debuted, I found their first songs pretty good even though I wasn't completely a fan of it. and somehow, they made Hinano center quite a lot and I was surprised at how good she looked with the center position in songs that are more mature, kinda feminine/classy type, and she just looked so good! Besides, I didn't know that she had a nice singing voice, and I found out thanks to these songs because of her solo lines. so UNLAME was definitely not useless since it made me notice a lot of good things about Hinano!

I did have mixed feeling about the subunit because I wasn't sure if it was really necessary, and they also weren't following their plan to release a song every month... even though in the end, it's still more content for the girls so it was still nice to have the subunit. But yes. I was also thinking that this subunit "blocks" the girls from getting pushed more in AKB. and this is what bothered me a bit for Hinano because initially, she was the most followed 18th gen on social medias, and she was also selling in HS. Now she's the 2nd most followed (Azu is 1st of course), and her HS in AKB is not selling so good. She actually talked about this recently during some Showroom stream, and I wanted to mention it, she talked about the fact that she's part of two groups that have events so the fans have to spend for both. Of course this affects her sales in AKB, and generally it doesn't seem like there are plans to have her in senbatsu. Here's the video (btw it was cute the way she said "muzukashiyo ne" haha)

However I guess it's not like Hinano is totally ignored by AKB because she did get to replace a missing senbatsu member for one of the Koi Tsun Jatta performances, so there's that! and generally, it seems to be an issue with 18th gen where only 2/8 who have made senbatsu and it's taking quite a long time for management to select more 18th gens.

Then recently, when UNLAME released KIRAKIRA Tune, even though I'm not like a big fan of the song, but the colorful and cute music video, and Hinano's cute styling, I found it fun and quite a nice change from what we get in AKB (for the a-sides). I do like what we get in AKB but it's nice having something different with some of the girls. I kinda miss when AKB used to have more songs that had specific themes and it would be colorful and fun and everything. So UNLAME is giving this! and I started to think that maybe it's not too bad to have this since these girls are not getting in AKB senbatsu anyway, at least they get some good contents with UNLAME. There are also the performance and fanmeetings where they dress cute ^^

Besides, I actually really liked the current line-up of the group (which might be an unpopular opinion), I like it better than the original one because all my favorite girls (Hinano, Yuichi, Hiyuka) are still here and they get to shine more, and I feel like these 5 girls make a good subunit, it's like... I don't know, but they look good together! and recently, I also noticed how Hinano and Hiyuka got closer, I saw in their IG stories and all. I love it!

I also listened to the UNLAME songs again, and for example, I really love Hinano's voice in the song "UNLAME" (yes the one with the weird chorus haha), Yuichi also has good parts and I enjoy listening to the song just for their parts. I also liked their most recent releases like "VIVID GIRL", the b-side "Naimononedari", and "KIRAKIRA Tune" as a song is fun too.

So yes this feels like just when I start to like the subunit more and actually see more good sides of it, they're disbanding ._. I wish they lasted for just a little longer and got a little more content, some more songs, and disbanded later? Maybe in a year. I don't know but it's a little sad! This subunit helped me to get to know and like Hinano better >.< without it, she will definitely have less content. We can just hope that she will get more support in AKB and do better, and that she can get pushed there. She won't be center and have screentime and solo lines like with UNLAME, but at least if she could be in senbatsu, appear in more MVs, get more jobs, it would be good and she would also achieve her dream. Let's just hope!
