Minegishi Minami (Miichan) / 1st Generation

I've never had a dream with strawberry ice cream. The dream I posted didn't involve ice cream....but...I still think about it. I wonder if the smile she made in the dream is going to be the same one when/if I meet her @ the handshaking event.

The most recent time when I was in the front row with her performing, the smiles she gave me were pretty close, but not the same. Luckily, these smiles were much happier. I'm very very sure she realized who I was. "Oh, THAT'S the foreigner who sends me letters and pictures!!"

when is she going to have a handshaking event? I am sure she recognizes you by now, seeing so many of her AKB concerts, reach 100 visits, and you will meet miichan!

 

Miichan will appear at the next handshaking event that will correspond with the release of the 8th single. That should be around the end of October. I don't care if I have to wait overnight for it. I am definitely doing it!!!

 

we look forward to hearing about your experiences, and if they let you take a pix, that'll be cool, cause they didn't let me take a photo of Mariko-sama at the handshaking event when i met her in July.

My picture with miichan will come when I go 100 times. I haven't decided yet if I am going to do it...but, we'll see. I'll have to pick out NINE other girls! I have no idea who I would choose.

I wonder if I can take 10 pictures with just miichan

 

Has Miichan not been to the past handshaking events? I thought she would, since she is so popular.

yeah, i can relate on how they don't let you take any photos, i was so ready to snap a photo of Mariko-sama, and they told me "no".

is it different when you reach the 100 visits event(photos of the girls?), or whatever ou call that? and they let you meet 10 of the AKB girls, omg!, something i can only dream of doing...i'd be lucky to see them 5 times a year if lucky, unless i got twice a month to japan, or move there...lol

I can chose my top 10 easily, but i wish it were top 25 girls!

I've seen 35 shows. 65 to go.

Different in what way? You don't really get to talk to them longer than it takes to walk into the theater (just you of course) with the girls there on stage. You all sit on the stage and they take the pic. You probably get to shake each of their hands and say a few things, but that's it.

From what I understand of it, it is a fairly short process.

 

probably just a few min's with them eh....that's no more than the handshaking event, minus the photo...

have you meet the girls and had a photo yet? i am sure you see them a lot in the 35 times you have seen them in concert. Don't the girls come out and greet the fans at the end as the audience is leaving the akb floor?

I've never met any of them, taken a photo, etc. The closest I've gotten to any of them is sitting in the front row. I've been lucky, and been able to sit in the front row 8 times now.

They don't greet the fans at the end of the show or anything. I don't think people would leave if that happened....

 

have you been close to a handshaking event? i am sure you will know of them inadvance, being in Japan, hopefully you will get in the next handshaking event, and meet some akb girls.
8 times in the front row!, that is awesome!, now if they let you take photos, that would be cool. if they are so accessible, why are there so few "handshaking events" or do they correspond to only when they have a single released?

 

I was able to go to one of them a few months ago, but didn't, because I looked at the line, laughed, and walked away. I had already stood on line to buy a theater ticket for 4 hours, and I wasn't about to do another 4 hours to MAYBE meet one. I didn't have a ticket so I wasn't guaranteed to be able to.

4 hours! geez, a line to the concert is long enough, but another 4 to meet one of the girls?
i guess i am super lucky in that i didn't even have to wait 5 min's to meet Mariko-sama, it was by chance that i was there at the right time/place.

so, how do you get these tickets? to meet them

 

I still can't believe that, man. You don't know how short 5 minutes is after waiting for 4 hours. Even now, when someone tells me "oh I'm sorry, you'll have to wait up to one hour." and I think "WOW!! only 1 hour?! That's so short!!!"

I think when I line up to buy the CDs, I am going to wait overnight. I think they sell around 8am in the morning. Since I'll be up all night, I am going to go there at 10pm just to see what the scene is like. If people are there, I'll put my stuff down (first of course asking if it's the line for the CDs). I don't plan on sleeping that night at all. If nobody is there, I'd probably check back every hour or so, spending time in one of the internet cafes there. Basically, I am NOT missing this one.

All worth it though, if I can meet Miichan FIVE TIMES!!! (5 cds = 1 time for each CD = limited to 5 CDs per person)

 

^ yea, i was super lucky to meet her almost instantly and not really have to wait at all, 1 hr seems like a long time, maybe cause i am not use to waiting in line like that. But i will have to eventually for their concerts.
If i had the time, and i was there in Japan, and had the opportunity to meet any of my favorite akb girls, i think i would do the same.

 

Wow, I didn't know about the 100 visits thing. That is really interesting. Now I feel like making a top 10 list. I have a feeling if I lived over in Japan...I might be a wota.
