As mentioned in the Graduation Announcements thread, Tomu sadly announced her graduation at today's AKB48 concert at Nippon Budokan. Official notice:

No graduation date has been announced but she will be in all online talks up to the last scheduled one on 2/19. (Hopefully she'll get a proper full-scale gradcon.)

I'm not surprised, to be honest. Every time I see a notification for her thread I expect it to be a graduate announcement, especially after she wasn't in senbatsu for Hisashiburi no Lipgloss and now that she's in her late 20s. I hope she gets a good send-off though.

She's done really well in the group and outside of it. Kami 7 in the group while getting her postgraduate degree and weather forecasting qualification and doing other non-idol stuff like her investment seminars. She'll be absolutely fine post-graduation.

I wonder how Orin feels and if she's going to stay much longer though. I know they're in different teams now and Orin seems to be fine with that, so maybe she'll stick around a while longer?

Edit: Oh, and for the third time now, I need a new AKB48 oshi!

Not gonna lie, I kind of don't expect one for Tomu. After what was given to Anna, Rena and Myao, I reckon at the most she'll get a section at a concert (if there will be another one by March). Maybe we'll get another spring concert, or something.

Apparently she said her graduation announcement had nothing to do with not being included. She had been thinking about it for a bit now, and that's why she didn't feel bothered when she wasn't included.

I unfortunately don't know what Limited Editions come with these days, ever since COVID. They used to come with a ticket to turn up for the national handshakes on the day, if I understood it correctly, but they're obviously not a thing anymore now that everything is digital. @David61 used to be in the know, maybe he knows? (Sorry for tagging you if not)

 

For the last 2 singles the announcements of the benefits with the tickets came after the release dates so unfortunately it's a case of wait and see. (For the last single they included the photo sessions with the 17ki members.)

 

Oh, I meant more along the lines of her not being included in senbatsu because she knew (and I guess 'they' knew) she was announcing graduation soon. If they chose not to include her not knowing about her graduation plans and she's at peace with it, then so be it. That's still a bit annoying as a Tomu oshi and knowing she's been burned in the past but I can't be mad if she's not mad! I know she'll be fine in whatever she chooses to do post-graduation. I'm sure it will be a great mix of interesting ventures, just like while she was in the group.

I guess the dates mean there won't be any further MVs with Tomu though? That's a bit disappointing

I also wanted one more Limista signing from Tomu but can't as it's only senbatsu members

 

They've just announced these:

• Prize A - live performance, will only include senbatsu
• Prize K - real live handshake. Tomu will be in a lane together with Miyupon, Yukarun and Macharin
• Prize B - VR date with AKB48 Surreal unit members (no Tomu, unless she turns out to be the voice of SURRY; but I think it's either Taguchi Manaka or Tokunaga Remi)
• Prize 48 - signed Cheki, 5 per member (so there is a chance of winning a signed cheki by Tomu)

 

@Jurinavenclaw Just to add to the post above by @bonjourmarlene, yesterday I received my 3 copies of the Limited edition and I've gone through the appiication process. (The serial numbers are inside the obi strips.) I went for the '48' option but I experimented with the other 3.

For the 'K' one you have to select your choice of lane from a drop-down menu, it's not like the old National HS events where you just rolled up at the venue with your tickets and chose your lanes there.

For the '48' one you simply select your chosen member by typing (or pasting) their name into an entry box on the form. You also have to add a Japanese address and phone number. Hope that helps!
