I was going through the profiles on the official AKB website, and I noticed that Serika's nickname changed? I'm pretty sure it has always been "SERIKA" before, so I'm not sure when the change happened, but now it says "せりちゃん" (Serichan). I'm also not sure if I heard other members calling her like this... AKB rarely edits the nicknames in the website so I wonder if it was a request from Serika (like how Otake Hitomi did today).

i was under the impression that her father worked for [a large automotive company] and she was named after the toyota celica. but i can't remember where i got that information and haven't seen it since. maybe i just dreamt the whole thing.
if she only got into akb because her dad worked for toyota we could've done a lot worse. seri-chan is great.

 

On Anta Dare, Top Lead ran intros of the members, and then 12yr old serika explained she was named for the Celica. Don’t remember her mentioning her fathers employer though. Niizuma then nicknamed her “Car”
