Nakai Rika (Rikachan/Rikahime) / 1st Generation

Her being center is definitely controversial considering they had set Katomina up for the whole thing and I can see many Katomina fans bring upset that she was technically "cheated" out of center twice. First ngt song 315 max toki went to okappa then 1st single rika. Even though I'm not a rika oshi myself. (Ogiyuka oshi here lol) I think rika will do a pretty good job as center and have faith in her

It's good to see that all Rikachan's achievements weren't ignored.
As for Rikachan's similarities/differences from Sasshi, I think there's a big similarity: the struggle she'll have to do to be reconized as Number 1 by people. It's already started!
As for antis, I'm not worried about. Rikachan had more antis than fans by the time she entered the NGT48. It'll be a level up.

It's the amount of fans n public interests that matter. anti don't (look at Sasshi n Paruru). well in fact they do, they create more attention thus interests about the idol.

Anyway, congrats Rika on centering!!! I support Katomina more but honest this is so deserving, Rika has been working soooooo HARD AND SMART. I'm not sure everyone notices this but doing all the showrooms on top of her NGT and AKB and outside works require tons of time and energy.

Now, I don't want to sound like pessimist, but Rika is not super young, so I would love to see her catapulted right to the top!!

Great idea! I haven't seen yet but it seems that Rikachan's SHOWROOM was streamed on the main screen instead of traditional MCs between some songs.

NGT48's 1st single was announced by Tokumitsu-san who did a surprise appearance at Rikachan's SHOWROOM.

 

tbh.. i'm a little disappointed in the fan reaction on stage48 to rika being the chosen center for the first single. i myself honestly wanted moeka to be the center, but rika being chosen was a pleasant surprise and i know she'll do well. i just wished the rest of ngt fans on here shared the same sentiment of "oh well, it's not what we expected, but lets roll with it" rather than trying to imply that rika doesn't deserve the push she's getting/someone deserves the position more than her.

 

It's always happen when an important announcement is made. Someone made a point that people like to bitch, so there's that.

Gotta roll with it.

NGT48 held their first solo concert on 20th at Tokyo Dome City Hall and details of the debut single released next spring were announced. Release date is April 12th and the center is Nakai Rika (19). The Senbatsu (Selection) members are all Team N3 members without changes. After the encore Tokumitsu Kazuo (75) announced in a live appearance on the large screen and read out the release date etc. Nakai Rika trembling and surprised squeezed out her voice "Since I was delegated, I'll be a center that people don't feel ashamed of". NGT48 has already released two original songs as coupling songs on AKB48 singles but it's the first time Nakai Rika is the center. On this day, they performed 31 songs, including Keyakizaka46's "Silent Majority", roaring 2000 fans.

The debut single song of NGT48, an idol group based in Niigata city, will be released April 12nd, 2017. It was announced at the group's first solo concert, held on January 20th.

Nakai Rika (19) will serve in the center position. When the group started in 2015, Kato Minami aka Katomina (18) was the most noticed member, followed by Takakura Moeka aka Okappa (15) who centered NGT48's first original song "Max Toki 315 Go". Nakai was selected in this debut single, and NGT intensified the fighting for the center position as well. It's become like a "3-way struggle".

"Ouch! No, no, no, no, oh no! Why?"

The concert of this day started with a video entering in the Joetsu bullet train "Max Toki No. 315 (Max Toki 315 Go) at Tokyo station. As the performance of the songs progressed, the bullet train went northward, with the arrival at Niigata station at the end of the concert.

Among 31 songs performed at the concert, two were solo songs. Nakai, known by the nickname of "Princess Rika", admires Watanabe Miyuki (23), former member of NMB48. Nakai sang Watanabe's solo song わるきー (Warukii) as わる姫(き)― (Waruki, Bad Princess). Same way, Kato admires former AKB48 Group General Manager Takahashi Minami (25). Kato sang Takahashi's solo song "Itoshisa no Accel" interwining with her acrobatics.

Between the two who sang the solo songs, Nakai took the center position in the debut song. At the end of the concert, the free announcer Tokumitsu Kazuo (75) appeared on the monitor of the venue and when he read Nakai's name, she said:

"Ouch! No, no, no, no, oh no! Why?"

in panic. But after babbling "What I gonna do?" she said to 2000 fans:

"Well, I'm really worried whether I will serve, but I'll do my best, so please support me. Really, since I was assigned the position No. 0 (center), and even having faced hard times until now, it must be truly hard to stand for the debut single, so while being supported by everyone, I want to do my best. I'll be a center you won't be ashamed of. I'll do my best!"

HKT Miyawaki and Kodama were also frustrated at debut single

Nakai had missed entering the 80th ranking in the Senbatsu Sousenkyo (Selection Election), held in June 2016 but she was chosen as Senbatsu member for the AKB48's single "High Tension", released in November 2016. She was the only NGT48's original member (not considering transferred member Kitahara Rie (25) or Kashiwagi Yuki (25), who has a concurrent position in AKB48) who was selected. She also entered in the NHK Kouhaku Senbatsu (NHK Red and White Selection) at the end of 2016, a 48 members selection chosen by popular voting. It's a form in which such popularity ascending is appreciated.

On the other hand, Kato stood as center and showed forward somersault in the event held in October 2015, right after the group's inauguration. She attracted attention of the media and it can be said she is "the face of NGT". She ranked 76th in the Senbatsu Sousenkyo. She's the only NGT48's original member who ranked both in Sousenkyo and Kouhaku.

However, Kato missed the center position two consecutive times, firstly in "Max Toki 315 Go", a coupling song of AKB48's single "Kimi wa Melody" (released March 2016), and now in such an important aspect as a debut single. This time, while Nakai was pleased with the big selection, Kato was on her side wiping tears with her hands many times.

Nevertheless, it's not the first time among the AKB48 sister groups that members who were noted at the time of launch weren't appointed to be center during CD debut. In the HKT48 based in the Fukuoka city, the first generation members Miyawaki Sakura (18) and Kodama Haruka (20) were noticed as the "Two Tops" from the beginning. But for the debut single "Suki! Suki! Skip!" (released 2013), a 2nd generation junior member Tashima Meru (17) was selected as the center.

Although Miyawaki and Kodama felt a great deal of frustation, they ranked 6th and 9th respectively in 2016 Sousenkyo. Nowadays they're active members in the core of the AKB48 group. It seems that there's a possibility that Kato will also be hit by spotlight in some way.

NGT48, a sister group of AKB48 based in Niigata, confirmed the CD debut on April 12th. On the 20th they held their first solo concert "NGT48 1st Anniversary Concert in TDC -Max Tokimekasechatte ii desu ka?- at Tokyo Dome City Hall. Just before the end, Announcer Tokumitsu Kazuo made a surprise announcement through the monitor. Nakai Rika (19) will serve as the center.

Nakai, who was staring at the monitor while sitting on the floor, stood up trembling the knees: "I'm really worried whether I will serve, but I want to do my best. Since I was assigned the position No. 0 (center), while being supported by everyone, I'll be a center you won't be ashamed of. I'll do my best". Captain Kitahara Rie (25) greeted the audience "We've kept you waiting so long, but finally the CD debut date has been decided. For NGT48, this is the real start. I hope we can keep aiming the top all together."

The Senbatsu (Selection) will be formed by 16 members of the Team NIII. Nakai, Kitahara, Ogino Yuka (17), Oguma Tsugumi (14), Kashiwagi Yuki (25), Kato Minami (18), Sato Anju (15), Sugahara Riko (16), Takakura Moeka (15), Tano Ayaka (19), Nishigata Marina (21), Hasegawa Rena (15), Homma Hinata (17), Murakumo Fuka (19), Yamaguchi Maho (21), Yamada Noe (17). Single title TBD.

NGT48, the 5th national group of AKB48 is formed by Kitahara Rie (transferred from AKB48), Kashiwagi (who has a concurrent position in AKB48), Nishigata and Ogino (two Draft 2nd generation members) and 22 candidates who passed the final exam of NGT48's 1st generation audition held in July 2015, in a total of 26 members.

They've just completed a year since their own theater opened the doors on January 10th last year. For the AKB48 group, it's been four years since HKT48 released their debut CD "Suki! Suki! Skip!" in March 2013.

She got some (if not most of these) shirts as gifts from her fans. IIRC she got the Sumo Wrestler Glass from a fan too. (The first Sumo mug was given by Gatanee.)
