Nakai Rika (Rikachan/Rikahime) / 1st Generation

yeah, you have to be a pretty dedicated fan to get all those jokes
for me it started when I was watching some of her showrooms before SSK and couldn't get what was that jiko/jikodoru (accident, accident idol, etc.) all about, so I had to re-watch all her showrooms from the start
she has so many of those jokes that there is already a history with more recent ones like Hair Rangers and old ones that she doesn't use anymore, like accident or MurakuMofuMofu song.

 

I think if she was from the UK, she could make a living as a stand-up comedian or working on sketch shows. Her ability to come up with characters and riff on them is very funny.

but as it's Japan, she's doing well with everything at the moment. I got her gravure appearances in the latest issues of BOMB and BLT Graph yesterday. The issue of BLT with her Santa appearance is already sold out at Amazon so I'll have to try and get it from another seller.

THE TRUE LOVE GRANDPA PAPER PLAY

This is one of the Rikachan's newest gags. In this scenario, Rikachan's a kindergarten teacher and she's presenting to her students a Paper Play (kamishibai) that tells the story of a grandpa addicted to idols.



Yes, are you ready?
Yes, today is this Paper Play:

THE TRUE LOVE GRANDPA!

Once upon a time, there was a grandpa and a grandma.
Grandpa was addicted to idols.
Grandma, disappointed, worked hard and decided at last: "I'll become an idol too".
Then she weared cute clothes, put a ribbon, put a tail and danced Tenshi no Shippo (Angel's Tail).
Grandpa was amazed:

- I don't wanna see you in those clothes!

He left house and walked to the theater.
When he was thinking he would see Rikachan's Tenshi no Shippo, No!
There had been an Unit Shuffle and Rikachan was no longer at Tenshi no Shippo unit.

- Whatta hell! The last image of Tenshi no Shippo on my head will be the Grandma's one!

While he was thinking it,

- I wanted to see Rikachan's Tenshi no Shippo!

While he has thinking it, Rikachan appeared singing Junjou Shugi.
Grandpa was amazed here too.

Rikachan's note: "Someone was amazed" is recurrent in folktales.

Grandpa was amazed! He had nosebleed and collapsed.
The theater staff took him to the hospital.
Grandma got to hospital and asked to Grandpa:

- Why did you collapse?
- Princess Rika, she was ... so sexy!

And he fainted again.

According to Rikachan, you have to buy always three copies:
- one for decoration
- one for use (read)
- one for backup
She has done it with her Milky's magazines.

Yes, Rikachan would be great at stand-up comedy! Unfortunately humor in Japan is restricted to owarai format. She turning into a onna geinin (japanese female comedian) is not a very attractive idea. The way she's doing at SR is very fun. Hope she can improve in this direction!

@fatrain I watched to a few SR during SSK (mostly Sasshi's, Yukirin's and Kojimako's) and I heard some members commenting about a Rikachan's SR but it was only after Sasshi had teased with her at SSK concert MC (the same as my signature) that I tried to see her SR backups.

Many jokes were left behind. One that she used a lot was The Gatekeeper of the Moon (Tsuki no Monban).
In this scenario, Princess Rika would return to the moon, flying with her pigtails. To enter the moon, she had to pass the test of Christine, the gatekeeper of the moon (she weared a heart glasses and used a lightstick). The test was to say the entire 7th table but Princess Rika never got it and fell back to Earth.
In one othe the SRs, we were presented to two more guardians: Sophia (Hinatan), Christine's little sister and Ardente (Mofuchan), which only spoke English.

Nakai Rika. Birthday: August 23rd, 1997. Origin: Toyama Prefecture. Nickname: Rikachan. Hight: 156 cent. Blood type: A.
She won first place in a popularity ranking of video broadcast app "SHOWROOM" during the 8th Selection General Election held in Niigata in June this year. With drama appearances, solo cover gravure in a magazine, etc., she widened the range of activities at once and managed to enter for the first time into AKB48's Selection of their single "High Tension", released in November.

CD DEBUT SEA OF JAPAN TOUR ELECTION RANK IN
In December issue of the AKB48 newspaper released on the 16th this month, we held the annual "Montly AKB48 Group Newspaper Award 2016" and honored the members who had an outstanding activity.

Nakai Rika (19) was the only selected from NGT48 as the New Heroine Award. Today I'll post an extra edition, talking about her joy and ambitions for the next year.
Also, I'll report some details of the "6th AKB48 Kouhaku Taikou Uta Gassen", held 15th this month with participation of NGT48 members. (Matsuo Konosuke)

Encouragement from Katomina
- Although it's less than a year after NGT48 opened their theater, Nakai-san's activities have been quite fascinating, especially in the second half of this year. Have you talked to any NGT member?

Nakai When I was selected for AKB48's single Selection, Katomina (Kato Minami), who already had experience as a Selection member, was the first who contacted me. "It'll be only you but do your best. This opportunity of yours means all NGT's opportunity" she said. She also has a lot of work in Tokyo, so we talk very much to each other.

- In addition to the Nippon TV drama "Cabasuka Gakuen" (Saturday 0:55 am), it was confirmed your appearance on TV Asahi drama "Tofu Pro Wrestling" (starts January 21st, 0:35 am). You've been staying more in Tokyo lately, haven't you?

Nakai I'm thankful that I can work in Tokyo but as I love (NGT48's) theater stages, there're times I miss performing there. And the laundry, it's a problem! When I return to Niigata, I only have time to do laundry lol. Also the SHOWROOM, if it's possible, I'd rather broadcast at home as well. I have my comedian instruments there, I can show my best at home. Today's work was the Pro Wrestling drama. I haven't had time to rest my soul, but I'm very glad I've been given the opportunity. I'm scared of the time when the current momentum of work has stabilized, so I must do my best to keep it.

- NGT48 will also make a CD debut next year. Keyakizaka46, which was announced at the same time has already debuted and burst onto the charts. What do you think about it?

Nakai I think Keyakizaka46-san managed to get attention absolutely because their effort, so NGT should try harder. There're things only NGT can do and while Keyakizaka46-san was successful, we were also struggling. So when it comes our turn, I want us to show all accumulated effort and make a break at their level. We have the advantage of the theater and I think we can build a relationship of trust with our fans there.

- What's the goal of your activities for the next year?

Nakai I want to do an event in my homeground Toyama and also a Sea of Japan side tour. This year we did a concert at Niigata's Tsubamesanjo and it was very good by the way. And to rank in the General Election. Next year I shouln't be unranked. There's AKB Selection for the NHK's Kouhaku Utagassen too. The amount of various things in which I am selected to has increased. I would like to become a person who can meet these expectations.

December 15th "AKB Kouhaku"
On the 15th, AKB held the "6th AKB Kouhaku Taikou Uta Gassen" at Tokyo Dome City Hall. The Red Team which had Kashiwagi Yuki (25, AKB48 and NGT48 concurrent position) as their team captain won. "We've prepared a lot so I guess everyone's hard work led us to the victory", she said.

140 members of the group including NGT48 participated in the event. Nakai Rika also served as Vice Captain of the White Team. She cheered up the audience performing AKB48's "LOVE TRIP".

After the event, there was an announcement of the preliminary results of the public voting to decide the 48 members of AKB48 which will attend the NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen. NGT48's Kitahara Rie (25) and Nakai ranked in. Nakai, whose name was called, trembled with pleasure. The voting is being carried out by the NHK's official application "NHK Kouhaku"until the 28th. Expecting further progress of NGT48 members.

as for busu part... well, to be fair, she has a quite unique look that might not be to anyone's liking. her looks remind me of Shu Qi, a Taiwanese actress and model famous for her beauty, so she's nowhere near being ugly, but I am afraid she might be labeled as such. especially since she excels in variety. the more popular she'll become, the more antis will try to bring her down by any means they can.

Poor Rikachan! She's already admitted at her BD stage that she has a weird face but tries hard to look cute.
People say it depends on the angle you see her. I think her big peculiarity are her teeth. It doesn't seem so expressive when you see her by the front (like at SRs). What I didn't see it comig was the busu "nickname" ... can it level up to gerobusu?
Sure 2016 was a great year to Rikachan! She could finish with a flourish! Hope 2017 is great too!

Yes. Katomina was alone at home because her family went out on vacation. Rikachan then told she could go to Katomina's home since Maron was at a pet hotel and she's afraid of the dog.

- How were you at school?

Nakai: I wasn't very good at studying, so I decided to play with cute. Today I know it isn't the right thing to do but I used to be watching the mirror throughout the class.

- This character is suitable for the 48 Group, which is a competitive socitety.

Nakai: Yes, it is. Thankfully, I was able to enter the Selection for the AKB48's single, to be realeased in November, although I'm in the lowest position there. But I don't want to lose even to my seniors, so I'm trying to show off in the camera although I'm in the back row. Shinoda Mariko-sama said in the General Election: "Come with the intention of crush us." I like those words. I'll go with the intention to crush them too. I'm a junior but I'll try my best to eat all my seniors!

- It's a wonderful enthusiasm. It seems you were very frustrated back in the General Election.

Nakai: Did you see my face at the moment they called Katomina's (Kato Minami) name?
I made a face that shouldn't have been showed on TV. The feeling of "frustration" was blatantly exposed (laughs). Some friends of mine who watched to it told me later "You were doing a terrible face!". Ogino Yukachan and I had our names called out around 90th in the preliminary results. We said to each other "Let's make it possible for us to rank in. We don't want to lose to Katomina.".
There was already Katomina, chosen as the group center and Takakura Moeka (chosen as the center of NGT48's first original song "Max Toki 315-go") but the General Election is the place you can challenge regardless of that, right? I wanted to prove that I could go up only with my real force... When Yukachan and I were crying on the backgrounds, Sashihara (Rino)-san come to us and said "NGT48 is on the right path as long as there're members who don't want to lose so badly." These words encouraged me. I absolutely don't want to lose to Katomina next year. Despite this, we have a good relationship and we even go out to lunch together. That's why she's the one who I don't want to lose the most.

- It's a good relationship. By the way, I was interviewing Nomura Nao and she said "I'd like to do a show with Nakai-san.".

Nakai: Is that true? I'm happy! I really wanted to be friends with her. When I get in front of other members, I get very shy and I can't make many friends.

It's completely different from your real face at SHOWROOM eh? (laughs)
