You guys. I love this girl. She and Miyuyu are my favourite current kenkyuusei. She's absolutely professional and amazing already. I was completely impressed by her in RenKin in kenkyuusei A5, and now I just love her. I need more! Too bad she's Chikarina's under, so she's shoved into Locker Room Boy in B5...just like my baby. =(

SO. Tonight I discovered Komari's past as a meganekko gravure idol. I also found this page that lists a bunch of mini lives, their lineups and their setlists.

WHO EVER COULD HAVE GUESSED WHAT DIRECTION SHE WANTED TO GO IN?

I love her even more, right now.

She looks somewhat different now. I think she's lost some weight in her face. Plus, she ditched the glasses, so it's like she reinvented herself.

For the record, her Wikipedia page says she was under FLOWER AGENT, and this page has a link to a blog, http://ameblo.jp/maripiyo-rm-55/ , which is now gone. I even compared her nose and teeth, and it appears to be her. And in some old pictures, it's obvious it's her. So yeah.

Her wiki also says that she was on that show Perfume's Ceramic Girl was the end theme for, which Tokito Ami was in! I think she was just in one episode or she had a really small role, but I'm very tempted to watch it and try to find her!

I'm glad she came to AKB. Doing gravure, she would have been just another girl, but in AKB she'll have her chance to shine. She's really talented, so I'm glad she's moved on to showing the world that.



Not that I object to this or anything.

EDIT: I just found a freckle on her neck. I found it in both old glasses pictures and new pictures. Definitely her! She's definitely lost weight in her face.

Now I'll wait for a Japanese speaker to come along and tell me this was common knowledge among Japanese fans. I mean, if no one ever posts this stuff here, it's unlikely the rest of us will ever find out unless we just happen to Google a girl's name. *shrug*

in the video of her vs shinoda mariko she actually looks really relieved to have lost xD

^ I don't know if she was relieved so much as just...good-natured about it? She was smiling, but I doubt she would have WANTED not to win. Even if senbatsu would have been a lot of pressure for a kenkyuusei (though Komori managed to do it), UG at least would have been a good fit.

I'm bummed that she got stuck in TG, but at least the other Mariko didn't beat her all the way into senbatsu. XD IF MY MARIKO CAN'T BE IN SENBATSU, NEITHER CAN YOURS. BWAHAHAHAHAHA. I'm done now.

I can't believe she wore the banana outfit.

mariko talked about the janken tournament on a show and commented on her komari match and explained that they were allowed to wear what they want(to explain the banana suit, I believe the show people questioned it)

Just heard her Romance Kakurenbo from suuchan's birthday show!
WAS SO AMAZING.
Am pretty damn sure it's live, from the way she's ever so slightly late on one bit and just a few little 'breathy' bits.

OH GOD I only just realised that mariko is a 9th gen and thus NOW A FULL MEMBER
HOLY SHIT OMG I'm sooo happy for her, I'd probably cry if my eyes weren't so dry and tired.

Because she's not popular compared to the other 9th gen girls I was worried she'd be kicked out even though she's an amazing performer and pretty and everything. OMG KOMARI!!!!!!

I was so happy to see this girl getting screen time during the danso akbingo episode.

She came for the recent AKB performance in Singapore and I think she really shines on stage. She's very good at performing and she's genuine. During the MC she said that she hoped we will remember her even though she's a KKS. Hahaha there's no way i'd forget. I liked her even before she came for the performance so i'm glad I managed to tell her "Komari saikou" during the high-touch session

I have seriously fallen in love with Komari. She is SO beautiful and talented. Waywayway overlooked in 9th gen but it is hard to stand out in that group since everyone is amazing. :/
