Where can I read more about her? What exactly is her (and Ogiyuka's) role in the Mahohon scandal? People still seem so furious at them.

 

In short Maho personally named Gatanee as involved in the crime.

I'd recommend reading through the NGT48 Assault Case thread - it's 208 pages long though but generally all discussion related to the incident has been posted there rather than in individual member threads.

 

You're not going to find an answer to this question in that thread or elsewhere. Gatanee's "role", if she had any at all, has never been clear.

By process of elimination some people think she was the third member in Mahohon's list of "certain members" (which you can find on the first page of that thread), but even if she was, that list came from the perpetrators themselves rather than Maho's own experience, and we know for a fact the first two items on it were lies or at least massive exaggerations. I believe one of the assaulters did eventually claim that Gatanee told him something during a HS one time that he interpreted as an incentive to take his problems to Maho directly (their story is that they just wanted to "talk" and the assault was a "misunderstanding"). If that conversation even took place, I sincerely doubt she meant direct to her apartment.

Ogiyuka's role in the scandal was siding with the members who were getting flamed online, which led to various hoaxes being spread about her too. She never said anything negative about Maho.

 

No "process of elimination" is necessary, since each have been marked by official notations very clearly since the beginning in all the various references and, for what concerns the major players in the story and several on the side too, they've been spontaneously identified at this point, also as a result of that.
If anyone wants further confirmation on who's who, they can ask the people at the ex-AKS offices (or Yoshinari who just went back to Bangkok despite all the saber rattling) to release the documents they have carefully commissioned for 44 mln yen and more. The version with the names instead of the notations, that is, since they admittedly exist. That would have spared the trouble of having to create some ad-hoc Rosetta Stone for the purpose of cross-comparison, too.
For the rest, like said, everything has been put out, covered and archived ages ago already, no need to rehash and reargue the same discussion from the beginning every year. So, see you in the Finis Africae.

Now, for something new since last time: Ogino's one-sided passive aggressivity towards Maho looks to be still alive and well even to this day seeing those one-hour worth of hot air talk that she had, one on that Dreamer House channel first (now set to private, but don't worry, mirrors exist), and one, more subdued, later on the Youtube channel of Tamura Atsushi (by the way, how's your old friend GaaSyy doing, Atsushi?), which she even personally requested for (quoting her on the Dreamer House talk, "there aren't pretty much any places around open to pick up and treat this kind of story for me". No big wonder...).
The completely negative response to both of them has been all deserved. Especially since that had nothing to do with taking sides or even speaking in her own defense.

Love to see people who slept under a rock (or pretended to sleep under a rock) during that whole time coming out of the woodwork just now to do some cheap gaslighting tricks, anyway.

 

And what exactly would that accomplish, besides ruining the lives of even more innocent girls? The only thing any members were guilty of was getting too close with fans, something that was far from unique to NGT at the time. Should they have been more aware of the potential consequences? Absolutely. Do they deserve the treatment they have received? Fuck no.

 

"Think of the loose-lipped girls who willingly hang out with yakkais!" is truly the most baffling and least compelling appeal to emotion I have ever come across, especially when it comes to some who aren't kids (then or now) by any stretch of the term. Coupled with you fucking up the details of the case on purpose for the same reason in your apologetics, I am not even here to discuss another time.
Imagine what concern I have left for this group, too, after all this time.
