Oricon reporting 'only' 589k in its first week

Remember about COVID and its impact on pretty much any idol groups' operations. (And Maiyan's no longer with the group as well. No need to repeat what I'm about to say.) Not surprising this - and almost certain future releases - cannot reach a million under these given circumstances.

It's the highest for any female group for 2021, but not overall - I think Snow Man (a johnny's group) has the highest single sales this year so far (over 800k in its first week the week before Nogizaka46's release).

It's better to release content and feed the fanbase than stay quiet for too long. Covid might give Vtubers another year (2021) but it won't last forever.

I have seen this with other groups. You gain more subscribers if you continue to release new content despite certain circumstances we have now. Nogi shouldn't stop because we have a pandemic and nothing is wrong about their sales. They will be fine.

Sony Music has for the moment a problem to grow 22/7 and keep Sakamichi series high sales untouched. People in Japan are afraid to go out when government has made a state of emergency for second time and extended it to March but not after March 7. Vaccine is slow and they don't know if 74 million people can be vaccinated by end of June.

In fact that state of emergency was on-going when Nogi released their single made things worse.

Some observations:

• Iwamoto Renka, Kakehashi Sayaka, and Seimiya Rei have sold out the remainder of their slots. I can't say for sure if they've sold out completely because you cannot purchase tickets for a slot the week of the slot (and these charts are created based on purchasing availability). But we can assume they were at least close to selling out. Assuming the same case for Kiichan.
  
• Sato Rika is the first 4.5ki to sell out a slot! Congrats!
• For those who are curious, this is what the wait times and such look like during the middle of a slot.
  (This was for last weekend btw. On Valentine's Day yesterday most members had at least a two dozen members in queue at any given time.)
  Members who were extremely busy for one round would get their next slot's start time delayed. The members who I remember seeing delayed were Yoda, Zukki, and Enpii. For Yoda and Zukki last week their last slot delayed by 65 min!
  
• Yoda's slot was really crowded for Valentine's Day, easily 200-250+ whenever I checked. Unfortunately she was sick (3rd round fan accounts even said her eyes were a bit red) and had to cancel rounds 4-5. Hopefully she feels better in time for the BDL!!
