I guess that we all agree that Akimoto-san is the cornerstone of AKB48 but…what if he said that he was leaving, that he loved AKB48 but he needed something new, was a bit fed up or simply thought he had neglected too much his work, his family, his friends…? That is, what do you think would befall 'the AKB empire' without Aki-P?
If that happened AKB would end. It has been stressed many times before that AKB exists because Akimoto is behind them as their producer, without him they wouldn't be AKB48 anymore.
If akip left he would end akb. Just look at onyanko club... He owns the copyrights and if he got bored of akb i'm sure he wouldn't let any other producer take over. So we had better hope he doesn't get bored of akb
Hmm, He wouldn't really leave i suppose but if he did, judging by his past, there may not be a AKB left behind him!
Yada yo~ his songs are always reaching the top, and always be hit! I don't know how AKB will be if he leaves..
Yeah, I think so too. But I hope that Aki-p won't left.. ;_; Because it would really be the end of AKB.. And I would.. Cry. ;__;
If Aki-P left, in my opinion, Avex will pick AKB48 up :3 They probably won't pick up ALL the girls though. But they could probably still exist as a group called AKB48 under Avex with a number of the girls. Avex picks up just anyone and everyone, so it's possible. And besides, AKB48 always had ties with Avex... For example, Queen & Elizabeth was under the avex label...
Yes, it's true that onyanko club is a bad precedent, but IMHO this time it's very different, there are hundreds of girls involved, the numbers (money, fans, sales) are unbelievable, there is an ever growing number of foreign fans...and we should bear in mind the theaters too. I wonder...would Aki-P, fully aware of how profitable this project is, how many people (and how many dreams) are into it and how much happiness it has already send worldwide, decide to close everything just because he's bored? I think there are many different issues mixed here... This was just a comment, I haven't voted yet because I'd like to think more about it...(one day I'll learn not to make questions that are difficult to answer even for myself )
Well it would depend on what he did before he quit. Does he give up the position to someone else, passing the torch? Or does he just say "lol bored bye"? Because, as mentioned, he's the songwriter so they can't use his songs without permission etc... the AKB franchise would belong to AKS so survive (who owns that anyway? Purely Aki-P? Mystery stakeholders? Obviously SOMEONE had to have the yen to start the business), but they'd be pretty dead in the water without him. Hypothetical: Aki-P steps down, hands the reins to... Tsunku. WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
Momusu48, obviously... Well, this could lead to some funny questions, what if Tsunku was in Aki-P's place? and...what if Aki-P was in Tsunku's place?
I have say that Akimoto is a really talented producer, AKB48 definitely will not be the same if Akimoto were to leave the group. But if he were to leave, I'm sure another producer will gather up the members, to reestablish AKB48. Yuki will not let her beloved group fall apart! If they do, it would be cool if a few fans would take over the position just like how some sports teams are managed by the citizens of the cities they represent. AKB48 WILL NOT FALL! [rock]
If Akimoto left, Tsunku should totally take over. No, not really. I think if Akimoto left, AKB would, too.
If Aki-P left, the group wouldn't suceed. I doubt Aki-P would leave, though. But I'm sure if he left, AKB wouldn't exist anymore.
I feel like if he gave his position to someone on his executive board, we'd still have a very similar AKB, but without those great Akimoto lyrics and I'll bet there'd be less bad 'surprises' that Akimoto does purely because he's Akimoto.
If Akimoto leaves then there would probably no more 48 groups. He would have the rights and if he were to pass the reigns to another could they get #1 Singles almost every release.
No thanks. Then AKB wouldn't be AKB anymore. Well, if AkiP left then AKB wouldn't be the same again. That's like trying to make curry without the curry blocks. Or making a hamburger without the patty. You know what I'm saying? D: U're like "WTF?" right? And if someone replaces AkiP then the whole feel of AKB will probably change as well. Like substituting soy sauce for the curry blocks, or replacing the patty with a slice of beetroot. It just wouldn't taste right. I side with people who've said that once AkiP leaves, AKB leaves. As much as I don't want to see that happening, that's the most probable outcome. T_T Edit: Second that.
They'd/we'd lose a special figure for sure, but it would be business as usual otherwise. I doubt he would sever ties completely, at any rate. Johnny's manages just fine, it seems.
Well, this is really a tricky question (I wonder who asked it ). I wouldn't be utterly surprised if Aki-P left 'the everyday management' in a near future. At its current pace, it's quite likely that sooner or later Aki-P will not be able to write so many lyrics, manage all the groups, attend all the importants events,... (maybe he's already delegating some trusted people to do some of this things). I think that that day he will take a step back and will hand the group management to someone (maybe Togasaki-san?) or 'someones'. That doesn't mean that he will be leaving everything, only that he will concentrate on some things and leave the rest to the other people. In a way he'll become some kind of 'honorary leader' . So I think that even if Aki-P "leaves", AKB48 is too big, too important, too epic to just disappear and, even though it will surely be a little shock in the beginning, the group will recover from it soon and won't be seriously affected (after all, I guess Aki-P isn't anyone's oshi, he doesn't sing and he doesn't appear in the PVs wearing a swimming suit... ). One thing I'm quite sure, he's not handing her 'precious daughters' to Tsunku (I hope I'm not wrong... [sweat] )
