[RANKING] Uniform/Attire thread

I actually like all theur uniforms but if I rank my top 5 uniforms:

1. Barette
2. Kimi no wa kibou
3. Ima, Hanashitai Dareka ga Iru
4. Nandome no aozora ka
5. Taiyou Knock

Costumes:
1. Taiyou Knock
2. Kimi no wa kibou
3. Ima, Hanashitai Dareka ga Iru
4. Seifuku no mannequin

Least favorite costumes are:
Oide shampoo
Girl's rule ( i really don't like that they showed some skin there)

 

Not sure which is a costume and which is a uniform...

But I like what they wore for Nandome and Ima Hanashitai because of the jackets those uniforms have such that they look even better when they remove them...

 

For me the best two are the uniforms for nandome and ima hanashitai. I actually like the uniforms with longer skirts and jackets better than those with mini skirts. Somehow I feel these uniforms make them look like students from an elite, expensive private school. And they don't need to show too much skin. They are beautiful young ladies no matter what. And if they truly want to be different from AKB48, these types of outfit really make them stand out.

A dress from Alberta Ferretti Spring/Summer 2014 Milan Fashion Week. It is eerily similar to Hadashi de Summer costume, down to a tee.


Could it be Nogizaka46 actually buy dresses (or get the design "license", idk) from really high-end costume designers? Or maybe this is sponsored just like how they sports Nike shoes for Inochi wa Utsukushii costume?

Does Japanese media actually expose who are the costume designers behind any acts out there?

 

thats a great find. thanks for the share.i think your first two questions are highly likely a yes. i know that in the first 6 months of 2016 nogi earned sme 37 million dollars so obviously the company can justify the cost (whatever it may have been). 3rd question idk but if that info was available i suppose someone would have posted it

Yeah I was in disbelief when I found that catwalk photo. I checked that the designer has a branch office in Osaka, so I think it's very likely Sony and the designer are in contact of each other. (Very unlikely they steal the idea or such). I suppose the designer behind their costumes must have been mentioned in Nogizaka's Tokyo Girls Collection Hadashi de Summer performance.

It seems Alberta Ferreti tend to sell their dresses around $300 - $1500 per piece. Imagine buying for the whole members. And two types too.

I am very curious of who designs the dance costume of Influencer. It's a very nice fabric and the cuts are just so fitting to each member's body shape. I know some people were turned off by the trousers under a dress, but once I get used to it I realise that's the fashion statement an "influencer" will do!

 

Someone mentioned it in a recent thread, so I had to go and dig it up. It's been a while so there's lots to choose from...

Hazuki and NaoMao go to the costume warehouse! So many memories especially seeing Nanamin’s Sonna Baka na track suit. I’m also surprised graduating members weren’t allowed to keep their dresses.

I thought Hashimoto's golden track jacket was Ume's at first!

I'm surprised they still had the original jersey track suits, but it makes sense since it was in the NogiUta MV.

It would be hard to pick my personal favorite. Some of the uniforms (especially the "winter weight" ones like the brown/grey (wool?) from around the 2018 era, or the green plaid classic pattern [Nagashima Seira and those powerful thighs come to mind]) are works of art, and look incomparable even when displayed on a mannequin by themselves. Others, such as the pastel dress costumes worn onstage for Ano Hi Boku wa Tossa ni Uso wo Tsuita fill my minds eye with memories of Sayunyan and that high ponytail, or Johnson and her strong body when they were at the peak of their athleticism; I've never seen either of them more beautiful than those moments, and it is a testament to the dress designers in how to celebrate the female form.

Others, however, have a history all their own, and it isn't necessarily about their design, or their expense or workmanship. I can never watch their first stage appearance at the AKB concert in January of 2012 that my heart doesn't become full in looking at that scared group of young girls in their "bargain fabric" Guru Ca costumes and Mary Jane shoes straight off the rack. Nogizaka46 wasn't the billion-yen enterprise it is today, and every production penny had to be accounted for; when those young women showed up backstage, I'm sure more than one of them looked around at the 48 groups' costumes and realized the expense of their Senpai's wardrobe was an entire order of magnitude beyond theirs. Still, they went out there that day and made history, and highlight reels of that event are still shown in every documentary of Japan's Greatest Idol Group. I suspect it was that day when Rena Matsui realized Nogizaka46's potential.

As mentioned above, my favorites are probably the ones that trigger my memories the most. Out of them, I also remember my ideal of Kii-chan and the other 2nd gens wearing those yellow shirts and purple ties, or the Kenkyuusei's such as Kotoko and Ayane wearing those pink sleeveless doll dresses during the 2014 UnderLive series. For my forever Oshi Himetan, there will always be a mental picture of her in the 2014 summer uniform with the blue stripes and solid blue tie.
