A zoo in Sapporo with different sides to its charm

Hi everyone! This time, I’m going to tell you all about North Safari Sapporo, a zoo in Sapporo. It’s a theme park where you can interact with animals up close and personal. It’s also known as the most dangerous zoo in Japan because of its Dangerous Zone, with exhibits like one where you can walk over a tank with piranhas swimming around inside. In an area like this, you have to sign a liability waiver before you can even go inside!

If you think of zoo creatures that have various features as idols, they may appear innocent and have great reflexes, but they may also have sharp tongues and ambitious facets. Idol’s different sides that the fans can see accentuates their charms much more.

There have been times when I’ve shown different sides of myself, too. Once, when we were shooting a music video, there was a scene where my teammates and I ran a marathon. I wanted to make sure I was on screen as long as possible, so I did my best and wound up taking third place. I may look like I’m not very good at sports, but I was actually a member of the track team at school.

From here on out, I’d love it if my fans would try to find these kinds of “gaps” in my personality as they enjoy things like my blog.

2020 has been a crazy year.

I still remember it like today. In 2015 I was 12 years old and my classmate had just entered an idol group and become a celebrity overnight. Maybe that's an exaggeration, and you cannot seriously call a newbie member of a group of 300 people, notorious for its harsh and competitive spirit, a "celebrity". But for us, who had been seeing her almost every day, she was now simply a celebrity full stop. Many had definitely started treating her like one - gossips, two-facedness, jealousy had creeped into our class and it could have never been as harmonious as before.

For me, someone, who knew that girl pretty much ever since I had first started realizing the world around me, she was inevitably still something different. She was a star. No, that's not just expressing the same idea with a different word. For me, she had not been someone famous whom I had to follow. Even though you could say I had been following her my whole life, she had in my mind been the opposite of famous - someone, whom only I had known. She had always been the light guiding my life, but I had hardly realized, as she had also been an obvious presence in the way other stars are, and only upon reflection you can acquire the knowledge of their true meaning and value.

2020 has been a crazy year.

But in 2017, I already knew. And then at the end of the school-year, our school had a special lecture with some renowned professor. The guy was a crashing bore and I could hardly stay awake during the lecture, let alone remember anything from it. Only two things from that day stuck in my mind. First, she was not present. At that time it was already hardly an unexpected happening. Indeed, stars are too busy, they are not here for you alone... Second, "Knowledge Is Power". I have no idea, why did I retain that part. Maybe because it hit me especially hard - with my new knowledge I had thus acquired the power to suffer every day, to hate myself in brand new ways. How comfortable had my powerless life been...

2020 has been a crazy year.

But so were the other years, the high school years, the years without my star, 2018, 2019... I lost my star. Did it fall down? It certainly changed. Didn't we all? People might have to part from each other. But how can possibly people part from their stars? How can they part with their stars? I cannot even remember those years happening at all. All of it was just aimless floating in completely dark, empty space, without any stars to guide me. People around me might have been complaining less than they would in 2020, but in my perspective, those years were not any less crazy.

"Oh, hey!" It was only in the crazy year 2020, when I heard that familiar voice behind me. Am I imagining this? I should have been over the previous years, I should have been longing for such moment to happen, however ridiculous, pathetic and hopeless it might have been, but I hadn't once. I had already lost all hope, I had suppressed all my knowledge in hopes of returning to the sweet powerless days of my youth when I could still have slept peacefully. Alas, that is not how it works. But what was it I heard just now?

Only in the crazy year 2020 I was able to return to the sweet powerful days of my youth.
