Q : Reaction when you first learned of this role

Reika : Most of my past projects were serious. My manager told me that
this is different from all the other projects because I get to laugh most of the time.
But personally there are certain aspects in comedy that is difficult.
But I also thought this could be an enjoyable and challenging work.

Q. Impression upon reading the script

Reika : Initially the entire cast did not have any idea about the play but as the practice
progressed everyone realized how wonderful this play is.

Q. To play the role of Caprice, marriage fraudster

Reika : Planning a marriage fraud doesn't seem complicated, just simple planning.
It does have that sly image but this role doesn't have that.
As the practice progressed, I thought of adding a bit of flair,a bit devilish color to the role,
but was all denied by Kobayashi-san (director). So I went back to being me (lol).

Q. Impression on (Gen?)原-san who plays the leading role

Reika : Visual photography was last April and during the photo session there was this person
in a tank top and short pants. It's still cold but this person's lightly dressed. It was 原-san(lol).
When we were introduced he has a gentle demeanor that all the awkwardness and anxiety I felt disappeared.

Q. Impression on 元本-san who plays the role of Caprice' jailbird, ex-boyfriend

Reika : At first, we never spoke but he was kind enough to talk to me.
So far I have not worked with people same as my age so it was great that these two were nice.
I was a bit nervous before practice started but I think it's fine now.

Q. This play is about getting that prized diamond but for you personally what are you aiming for?

Reika : I am aiming for zero cavities. Back when I was still a kid, I easily get cavities but was scared
of dentists. It didn't help that my dentist was strict, it left me traumatized (cry)

Q. This play and Nogizaka46 summer tour are almost the same schedule

Reika : This doesn't seem to have any relation about me being on my last days as an idol and the play but it
would be nice to handle both with ease. On the other hand, since the tour is my last as a Captain, I'd
like to do my best.So, while tightening my group activities and relax a bit in theater, I'd like to feel moderate tension and exhaustion.

Reika : Yeah, I hope you travel around the country with me with this play and summer tour (lol)

Started a bit late.
Asked audience what they're doing. Mentioned it's hot.

Assignment from 4G (Short comment in a sexy way).
Asked audience what to do, can't think of anything.
Finally said Uni! Some said it wasn't sexy LOL. Really it wasn't

Talked about the live in Fukuoka. Talked about that segment during the live (Jibun janai kanji), she doesn't know if she'll perform it again in Osaka. She doesn't want to spoil it to those who have not seen yet.

Talked about the bank robbery play. They're done with the practice, just waiting for the actual play which starts this Friday.
Asking audience to watch since it's an interesting play. Someone asked where and said it's in the New National Theatre, Waka had a play here recently and said there's still that Waka air in the theatre Waka will go and watch.

Did the Kendama challenge which she failed miserably, 0 lol.

Talked about FNS, got contacted she'll be subbing for Maiyan few days before FNS.

Someone asked if she's been to a hanabi taikai (fireworks) and said no but just saw some while travelling (car).

Was surprised Maichun is next in Nogi obi, asked audience what assignment to give.
Assignment : Talk about Maichun's kawaii tokoro in a ギャル manner.

Q : Impression on each other's role, Reika as Caprice, Motoki as Mitch

Reika : 　Motoki-san's role is his complete opposite (lol)
Motoki : That's right (lol)
Reika : One cannot imagine this pleasant person say these kind of words (lines from the script),
so I think the fans would be pleased to see this very different character.
Motoki : Since Sakurai-san is an idol, there are a lot of lines in the script that I thought, Can I say this to her?
Today we had rehearsals and Sakurai-san said, it's fine.
Reika : Say it without hesitation! (lol)


Q : What were you thinking when you learned about this play and your roles ?

Motoki : At the time I heard the news, I thought it would finally be staged in Japan . It's receiving good reviews overseas.
Personally I worked before with Kobayashi-san (producer) and was happy to be working with him on this great play.
This is my first time to perform in this type of comedy, this kind of play is rare in Japan.
Reika : I had a guest role (play cute and it's done type of role) in Mr Kaminari (comedy play)
Motoki : Just appear and it's good type of role?
Reika : Yes, that's right. So I felt like this is the really first time to perform in a comedy play.
I had plays which were serious and the staff said this is the play I can laugh a lot , perform without really thinking about it.
Motoki: In that case, this is the perfect play (lol)
Reika : But the story is pretty solid too. Not just the comedy but its uniqueness.I really am grateful to be part of this play.


Q: What ,for you, are the highlights of this play?

Reika : Although the story and script is based on the British version but it has an original Japanese feel to it.
British and Japanese humour is different so it was adapted specifically for the Japanese audience.

Motoki: The Japanese version has more musical performances. Music and lyrics are Japanese original with lots of interesting
dance choreography. You will never be able to understand and do the role correctly unless you try it on stage.
It was really enjoyable during rehearsals that we were able to properly express how fun it was.

2 questions for Motoki, skipped ^_^

Q: What are you feeling now that this is your last stage play while still a member of Nogizaka46.

Reika : My feeling towards this play doesn't change whether I am graduating or not.
This will be the venue for people to see me in my last days as an idol since both performances will run in parallel.
It would be nice if people would see me in a different light, challenging myself to do something that is different from being an
idol. When I graduate (from N46), I may not get this kind of heroine role offers anymore (lol) so I don't want this to slip away.

Q : This play is about robbery, what is it that you do not want taken away from you ?

Reika : Mobile phone desu ne。 I do not have an alarm clock at home, that's my clock substitute and
would be a problem if it's gone.
Motoki: I do not have that much attachment towards material things. For me friends for example , that type of thing.

Q: Message to readers.
Reika : Coming to the theatre and watching is the only way to understand and experience this unique play.
Motoki : We want to share the excitement we felt during rehearsals to the audience. I think that this is something worth your
time. Please come and let's enjoy this together.

Went to watch The Bank Robbery, it was a really fun play, laughed a lot
Caught a glimpse of Reika suppressing a laugh as well while performing Reika did her Reika-ish best as Caprice. She had a solo song Abbazure.
According to the cast during the after talk, it seems Reika, during rehearsals, couldn't keep a straight face especially during face-to-face dialogues
(remember that segment in kojichuu?, when they tried to re-enact the hadashi de summer scene with Kazumin? I think, that face )

Captain Sakurai Reika's last activities will be the group's national tour concert at Meiji Jingu Stadium on 1 September 2019.

For fans who can not make it to the venue can still see it for themselves thanks to a live viewing, the concert "Nogizaka46 National Tour 2019 FINAL" will be broadcast to select cinemas across Japan, which starts at (17:30 JST), and tickets will be 3,900 yen each.
