Because I was able to get jobs thanks to my abilities in tennis, this was a fun year. When I went to tennis events, there would people who would say “I want to see you dance, too” and some would even come to concerts. There were even fans who told me that they started playing tennis because they became interested in it thanks to me.

Out of the memories I have of the tour concert in Miyagi is the tennis themed song “Wimbledon e Tsureteitte,” where I got my first center position. A lot of fans often told me “I want to see Akarin’s ‘Wimbledon””, so I was happy that I was able to show it to them. During the song, I hit balls into the audience in the ground seats, but my smash was so hard I hit it into the second floor balcony, I was surprised (lol).

I was also allowed to participate in “Tofu Pro Wrestling” under the ring name of “Jumbo Sato.” So I watched videos of Jumbo Tsuruta-san and practiced his backdrop and body slam techniques over and over. There’s also a technique of taking advantage of one’s own height to lift your opponent in the air that I used, and the instructors Mirano-san and Matsumoto-san complimented me, saying that it was the most exciting part of the match, so I was happy. This year I want to challenge new things, especially acting jobs since I’ve become interested in them. For this one year, I’d like to do things not related to tennis, too, so that I can show everyone a new side of me.
