Homepage / Twitter / YouTube / Instagram / Patreon / Spotify / SHOWROOM Seishun Youth Academy is an idol group based in Vancouver, Canada. They are the first international sister group to Japanese idol group SeiSHUN Gakuen (青SHUN学園) and are supported by the same agency (NoMake) and producer (rock artist SHUN). Seishun Youth Academy was formed in 2018 when twin sisters Ally and Sally left SeiSHUN Gakuen to return to Canada and were given permission to start a Canadian sister group. They had joined SeiSHUN Gakuen in 2017 and were members for a year, they're featured on the Seishun Wasshoi! album. I became a fan of them back in 2012 when they posted YouTube dance covers under the name Moetwinstyle. Later they were members of the net idol group Oishii! Project which was produced by Beckii Cruel and participated in their Gametime EP. Afterwords but prior to joining SeiSHUN Gakuen they performed under the name Ally&Sally at cons, on SHOWROOM and occasionally in Japan at live houses. if the video does not show watch the video here Since their formation Seishun Youth Academy has been quite active on the music scene in Vancouver, and they've also performed at Anime Expo 2019 in Los Angeles and @jam EXPO 2019 in Yokohama. They mostly perform English covers of SeiSHUN Gakuen songs but recorded the original song "World's Friend" which was the OP Theme for the TSK Program "Yahho!". Their first single "Message." (which is an English cover of Tegami. by their sister group SeiSHUN Gakuen) was released on December 6, 2019. While continuing their activities as leaders of SYA and now Seishun Gakuen from here in Vancouver, they will do their best to unite Seishun Gakuen as one and lead them into the world during Seishun Gakuen’s 10th anniversary year!" From their Facebook.

On July 17 Seishun Youth Academy released their third single, "Unending Melody ~Bullying and Soul-Searching Arc~". Check it out on Spotify.
Oh it’s those Ally and Sally girls. They’ve really been trying to make it as idols for a long time. I remember they were part of that Beckii Cruel intl idol group back in like 2012
Seishun Youth Academy are going to participate in a virtual, fan-driven Idolcon with a bunch of others~
Disbanding, effective immediately. </3 They cite "internal creative differences" as the cause of the break-up. Stella, Jessica and Emily all announced today that they would be withdrawing from the group, claiming they can't reach an agreement in regards to the future of Seishun Youth Academy. As these three members resigning would leave SYA to consist of only Ally&Sally, and since Ally&Sally were active as a unit prior to joining SG/SYA, I can understand their decision not to remain in SYA as it will likely be awhile before they can begin auditioning for new members and performing live shows again. COVID claims yet another idol group. Still, I wish they could have gone on hiatus and not disbanded. Also, it's not yet been announced who will be taking over the role of leader for Seishun Gakuen now that Ally&Sally have left.
Although we still don't know exactly why SYA split up, it's pretty clear that the rift was between Ally and Sally and the other members. As announced, Ally&Sally are still continuing as a unit and on Dec 17 they shared on Instagram a cover they did of the Japanese song "White Album". But Dec 17 was also the debut of Non Sweet. According to the description from their YouTube channel: Non Sweet is basically SYA under a different name. It's currently a five member group, and Jessica, Stella and Emily of SYA are three of the members. All the members have their own member colour with Jessica, Stella and Emily retaining their colours from SYA. Their first single is produced by SHUN, of Seishun Gakuen. if the video does not show watch the video here Two new members were introduced with the debut of Non Sweet. They are: Miyu Member Colour: Dreamy Green Birth Date: March 23nd Background: Japanese/Somali Height: 165cm (5'4ft) Languages: English, Japanese (beginner) Hobbies: Singing, ukulele, fashion, art Nina Member Colour: Honey Yellow Birth Date: July 20th Background: Taiwanese Height: 165cm (5'4ft) Languages: English, Chinese Hobbies: Lolita fashion, rhythm games (such as Jubeat) I think Miyu and Nina would have been great additions to SYA, but I am looking forward to seeing what they can do with Non Sweet. I think Miyu is really pretty. Japanese/Somalian is not a mix you see very often! Nina is also adorable, I find it interesting that her member colour (Honey Yellow) is so close to ex-SYA Yayoi's member colour (Sunshine Yellow). I wonder how long until we see Ally or Sally's colours being recycled.
