I was going to put it in the graph but I couldn't figure out what the asterisks were for. I'm an idiot and they represent missing numbers, don't they. Just realised that now when you replied.

233,000 in the first week! Not bad. I really think people are recognizing the quality of this group's releases, and it shows. By next year, nogizaka46 might be going head to head with the sister groups.... :D

    Awesome sauce.

What makes these numbers most impressive is that this is a December release, a time where record sales are normally lower and other than the anime tie-in and standard photo+event ticket, it didn't have any funky extras to help boost it. This shows a lot of promise for their future releases. If they make a habit of outselling previous singles in 1st week, they may hit SKE territory sooner than I imagined.

So the established pattern is that Nogizaka is selling more & more regular edition, & inversely less & less (relatively) DVD editions. Is this a good thing, as it means there are more casual fans? I know for AKB, a bulk of their sale are theatre editions (which is required for handshake), & higher proportion of theatre sale compare to regular edition sales are viewed negatively. Since there is no theatre edition for Nogizaka, does the regular CD edition functions similarly?

The weekly chart is in. The precise total figure is:

    金 **7,373 **5,092 **5,944 **6,063
    土 *10,901 **4,123 ***,4位 **5,699
    日 **7,524 **2,993 ***,5位 **3,512

    累 210,513 221,193 240,973 ***,***

Surprisingly low variance compared to AKB. Any theories?

Nogizaka's regular editions don't come with event tickets or even photos so I wouldnt compare them to AKB' s theater editions. The fact they're selling more than the editions that DO come with those extras indicates to me that there is a steadily growing causal audience who tend to care about the music above all else. It's a good sign. Even if they start outselling the other types by a margin that causes mgmt to deem them unnecessary, they'd just downgrade by a version or two and up the contents on each to keep the wota happy. I do wonder what is up with the DVD sales though since their HS event rounds are stronger I'd assume those versions would be higher. type a's usually sell the most so no surprise there, interesting Manatsu's version outsold the version with one of the centers and arguably the most popular girl in the group it'll be a ride to see how far she goes in popularity.

There are theater editions since Guruguru Curtain! Those numbers you post about handshake sales are from them :p

They are the same as the regular (CD Only) editions but with an individual handshake event ticket, as you can only purchase those via Chara-ani's site, exactly the same way as the AKB ones. You need to choose the girl you want to handshake with and the slot beforehand. Many rounds of sales are done to sell them, Hashire Bicycle's got up to the 11th round for example. Mannequin's 7th round will start tomorrow 3PM JST.
The NMB's Kitaken's 1st place on the 21st was because of the shipping of theater editions on that day.

    Kobetsu (individual) hs tickets:
    [IMG][IMG]
Those events only includes individual handshake sessions with the girls according to the assigned slots. You can talk about 10 seconds with them using one of those tickets.

Zenkoku (national) hs ticket (that comes with types A~C and Anime):
Those includes a mini-live in the beginning of the event, and a quick handshake through a 2~3 girls' line using one of those tickets. It's at those where they do some announcements/new song performance too.

Since Hashibai they've been doing a trade offer with the national hs tickets, as you can trade them for lotteries of some limited special prizes (kind of a meaningless sale strategy tho).

So yes, there are 6 types for Seifuku no Mannequin if you count the theater edition (that works exactly like the AKB ones), and 5 for the others singles. The theater ed. content is the same as the regular edition though, but with an individual handshake event ticket.
Maybe I should write that from now on. (_ _)

The Soundscan numbers have been dropping since the first single, which is not exactly good..

@kanjo: I don't know how many shops that report only weekly to Oricon there are, but they probably didn't sell that many copies from those.

I'm glad they crossed the 200k mark already though ^^

    ^ Thank you
This single is one of the best singles in 2012 that comes from the 48/46 groups,
I enjoy every song from this release, I can easily give every song a 5/5 score [nod]

^It pretty much IS the best from Akimoto's projects this year. I will stick with my theory that they are relegating the crappy songs (Gingham Check) to AKB48 and giving Nogizaka46 all the totally bomb singles to artificially speed up this "rivalry." If it keeps up, I can imagine that Nogizaka will reach AKB48 level sales and become an actual rival to AKB pretty soon.

Ah, mystery solved! :D So it looks like wota are just going more for the theater editions with every single and less for the CD/DVD. The cheaper price tag is clearly at work but I personally, would much rather get the buttloads of content w/ my event tickets and THEN buy the theater editions but priorities and all... *shrugs*

Isn't it a bit cruel though that we can still get theater editions with this group but not an actual theater (which is arguably the thing many have wanted)? :hmm:

As I was updating the first post of the girl thread, I just notice that Iwase Yumiko is missing in the list of participants in this single. What happen?

I haven't really been able to follow her so I'm witless of her situation.

Oh, then that means she's the first to graduate from the group? [think]

Nogizaka46 will now have a representative at the Graduated Girls Thread.

lol I hadn't realized Yuminee wasn't moved to the Graduated Girls forum. Wishful thinking? :D

Hopefully, she'll be the only one there for a nice long while.
