I don't think so.
Last year Anai was 65th place, now she is 25th. Haruppi was 49th, now she is 13th. Sakura was 24th, now she is 9th.
However Murashige only rose 10 spots. 28th to 18th. That's pretty disappointing to me.

I guess that because Takamina is one of those members that are a bit conservative, she doesn't even wear sexy outfits and pose on men's magazine like most of the girls do. She often wears skirt rather than a bikini in their photoshoots and mv. That's one of the things I like about her.

I don't think there is that much of a difference really. Instead of comparing this to the general election as a whole, why not compare it to Stage48's general election poll? In this member ranking, we have 88 people who voted for Takamina putting her in first. However, when it comes to spending money for votes, last election far less members actually voted for her, and she didn't make first place. Takamina has lots of casual appeal amongst casual fans, even in Japan, but amongst the hardcore fans who spend the most money, she doesn't have as strong as a fanbase.

I gave Mariko my oshimen vote because was my oshimen and this will probably be the last time that I give her a vote for anything in the future. Mostly a last hurrah kind of thing.

Ok, so there is my list and like I have said before, these are not necessarily in order of my favourites but I knew Takamina would get high votes, so she wasn't as high in my list even though she's currently my 7th favourite member.
The top 3 were to be expected really and even though Mayuyu was my only downvote, I knew she'd still be up there and I do have my reasons for downvoting her so don't assume I downvoted her because of some silly reason.
The one I am most happy about is Yui's high rank, I really didn't think she'd get that high since her fans stay really quiet and I was under the impression that she was liked but also not hated, but I guess as Yui fans we're not that vocal and we prefer to lurk around the forums instead, I mean even in her thread is not really that active compared to alot of the other girls.

If you forget about the usual top3, and only take AKB members, not counting the negs, the most liked and popular members in this forum are Yui and Paruru! YuiParu ;D I'm not sure how it is in Japan, but with the rumors of possible Paruru solo center or YuiParu double center for next release, I say, management aren't making a bad decision since these two seems to have lots of fans! and both of them are 9th gen and very close friends. It's perfect! I hope they can both enter top10 or (even better) top7 in this year's elections!

Final List - I'm happy with it. I think it was obvious who my Oshi was - PARURU - PRR48 yo!!

To think if I only switched around Kawaei & Sayanee - Sayanee would've blown past Yui. I fell in love with Kawaei in May & Sayanee "Officially" in like August so that's how I ranked - Plus, I figured Kawaei needed more "push" & she's younger & Sayanee was already 'established' but really ANY of the these 3 could be TOP Oshi in a heartbeat.

I actually omitted Yuko Oshima on purpose (She'd have been 2nd or 3rd) because she's Graduating and I don't believe in "pity votes" or Voting based on Tradition. As soon as she announced Grad, I took her off the field (She will forever hover above it like a Blissful Angel in my mind though).

AKS should take note as I'd say this is an ACCURATE top 10 (Minus Takamina - I'll explain why) and you got something for everyone here.

Detailed analysis of my votes....it might surprise you!

#1 Paruru - Duh - if you know my posts or personality or rep - this was a done deal. There really isn't anything NEW I can add. It wasn't close, there was no one else in the running & I'm glad her hair is back to respectable length (watch she'll cut it again just before elections). She continues to grow & be more & more lovely & mysterious and Kawaii

#3 Sayanee - Dam, I called this in January. You watch - she will soon (6-12 months?) become the NEW Yuko Oshima, atleast in terms of dancing "center" or being a front face for MC's or products & such. If she was in AKB (as opposed to NMB) she'd already be leader of Team K. Sayanee has everything Yuko had going for her & even Yuko I think would agree She's Ready a seat at Kami-7. I love Sayanee because she's Sexy but not Slutty. Goofy & Silly without being "annoying or weird". Her voice is very Angelic and her dancing is fluid & Flawless - plus, those EYES so penetrating & yet darkly mysterious. I love that she's growing her hair out. I said after the 1st time I truly noticed her- "Sayanee's beauty is the Classic Japanese beauty that Men would goto War to defend"- There is something Goddess like & magically mystical about Osakan beauties (Sayurin has it too) and I dare say Sayanee is a Princess in AKB.

#7 Sakura-tan - This surprised even me. Before I discovered Haruppi - I found Sakura adorable- She was a bit too young looking for me to take seriously for awhile but she always Pops & glows on stage. She's easily going to be the Milky, Yuki, Mayu? of her Era in the future. SO Impossibly Cute & Natural. Sakura & Haruppi each got 5 points from me so "technically they're TIED"- I put Sakura 1st because she WAS first & my interest in her hasn't lessened. I may not talk about her as much but she's always delighted. AND...truth be told, I got rubbed the wrong way by a few in the Haruppi thread (on Stage) & haven't posted there in awhile- SO BOOM, you made me realize I also like Sakura- so Now I will enjoy Haruppi "Less Publically" and devote myself more to Sakura-tan (at Publicly on Stage). Sakura IS the total Idol Package & she doesn't get the "Push" I think she deserves from AKS - Hopefully her new concurrency with change that!.

#11 Mayuyu - I really can't say anything about Mayuyu that hasn't already been said. She's the GOLD Standard. Worthy ranking #1. Never heard a bad thing about her. Although I did have a Paruru hater (about a year ago on TokyoHive) Try to sell me on Mayuyu talking smack about Paruru not deserving her attention) to which I DEFENDED Mayuyu by stating that she is the LAST Idol I'd expect to talk smack or do something to make AKB48 as a group look bad. Mayuyu IS IDOL - she's an Icon. She was already an integral part of AKB before "Beginner". WHY #11?? She's soo Great, Powerful & Awesome she doesn't need my 'Full Attention'. Mayuyu always brings her "A-Game". On a Personal note- I think she might be struggling with her "Image" cause she might be too old for twin-tails but still young looking enough to not be considered as "mature" as Kojima & Yuko- Luckily we'll have many years to see how she resolves this. I'm down for a Sexier Mayuyu & welcome her future transitions.

#12 Yukirin - Again - pretty, popular, powerful enough not to need my votes. She has a sexier & more grown-up vibe than Mayuyu and I like what she did in all the clips I saw in 2013. I liked her "sexy winks" & "work out vids" on Youtube. I love seeing her reactions & humor. She's never boring and she's soo beautiful - She'll always be welcomed in my heart. The Solo stuff isn't bad either.

#13 Kojima Haruna - Again an Icon. I like the niche' she's carved out for herself. She's impossibly pretty (like a Princess) yet she graces us with underwear commercials & manages to be soo sensual without being "overly so" I like the ears & I like that she is able to make fun of herself. I saw a clip of Kintaro imitating her voice TO Kojima and she was baffled (like, Do I really sound like that?) but she took it in stride. I LOVE Seeing her on AKIYOSHI's show. She's again a face & presence you never forget. There's a lot of GIRLS in AKS but Kojima is truly a WOMAN and I would follow her adventures anywhere after AKB.

A few thoughts on Takamina being #1

I don't see it - But I understand how it happens HERE on stage. I think we appear to like her more because it's a "western ideal" thing. She's "sold " to us as the AKB48 Manager - atleast that's how she was to me in the "The Show must go on" doc. I see her as an Original Founding member who is a Pillar - so on & so forth - but it's funny because Mayuyu said it best for me in that infamous "Truth Chess" clip we've all seen- Mayuyu vs Kojima. Mayuyu says "I don't see Idol in her - I see her more a comedian". I've always seen her as more a "Personality" or figurehead for AKB with all her MC'ing and she's the Idol rep to Management - She's Like your Boss. She's "one of the girls" but she's also a link in the Management Chain. I'd be happy to see her be a figure like Togasaki or Shinobu (she will eventually - or Sasshi will).

I think Westerners like her because she's small but she's powerful. She commands respect & she's an accomplished leader. She's a Strong woman. I don't think a cutie like Milky or Kojima would do well in her position (It's not their personality). I think any fan with an ounce of Feminist leanings probably likes Takamina and I think she's "sold" to fans as more "Tomboy" or successful business woman than 'Sexy Idol' (AGAIN, Maybe she is- I don't know! she's not my bag. She clearly has fans- Not Judging!).

Takamina has personality & she''s inescapable in AKB as a presence. She probably has shaped it in ways we don't even realize. I think we notice things in Takamina that don't get valued on the same scale as they do in Japan. I see Mayuyu & Yuko in sexy shoots all the time - I don't Takamina sells herself that way (maybe she's too busy? Maybe it's her choice?) Takamina is more like a big sister or your Mom to many of these girls - I think that's why she's not viewed the same way in Japan (or Asian cultures?) as she is here.

Just a Theory - I noticed that statistically she's almost ALWAYS #1 here. It's simply Numbers & she has them. Good Luck to her on her journey - I can't imagine ANYONE filling her spot in AKB48 itself. AND NO - She was NOT one of my Negative votes- Even if I had 10-20 slots I doubt she'd get one.

I already talked about my negative votes so:

Paruru got less negative votes than I thought. Guess people warming up to her or just got tired of hatin. She would of been top 5 if not for negative votes though.

Oh definitely. She did a few "sexy idol" shoots last year for her solo project, and there are a few from before that floating around, but by and large she's depicted as "cool" or honestly just kind of normal/cute rather than sexy (and a lot of the reason why is she just doesn't have the body for it lol). There's a joke on a lot of the TV shows she's on (Aki-P even jokingly gives her grief over it sometimes) that she doesn't know how to/can't be sexy - and her reaction is usually an over-the-top attempt that's obviously played for comedy But I think it's all lies, if you watch certain performances like Junai no Crescendo... she knows how ~_~

There's quite a few people around here who dislike gravure or just prefer a different image over all the sexy/cutesy idols that make up the ranks of 48group, so she has fans here for sure I personally don't care if she decides to become gravure queen #1 tomorrow, what attracts me to her is her aura, performance talent, that "intense eyes" thing (which Okada Nana also does btw), voice, professionalism, .... you know what I'll just stop there, I don't think anyone wants to read that novel

LOL - see, this is why I don't mind negative votes. I'm positively tickled that "some people" are so annoyed with the Rise of Paruru that all they had left was to vote their negative 'little 5 points' - doesn't change a thing. Just as the persons I gave Negative 4 & 5 points to will see any lose of "anything" - lol. It's visceral - that's all we can do.

How bad does it "sting" to see Paruru have so many POSITIVE Votes? Gotta be more than the gains (or Lack there of? ) of the girls I had a hand in "down voting" - in the end I was just 1 of MANY fans expressing myself. We all had a fair share & voice and next year will be another year.

Think of it like this without the negatives only her fans would be satisfied, with that kind of ignorance her non-fans would feel unsatisfied and a lot more ranting would outbreak, however now with the negatives she gets fairly ranked and both sides can feel a little happy, little bummed (fans get to feel happy she ranked high, but upset that she didn't rank higher and non-fans get to feel happy that they brought her down a few spots and upset that she ranked high still). Anyway she might end up being like Jurina where she has non-fans down voting a lot for years. Cause i don't think she'll end up like Yui.
