Now that 2013 is over I thought it would be fun for everyone to give their input on SKE's releases this year. It was definitely a rough year for the group with the graduations and shuffle, but they had some stellar releases and monumental concerts.

As much as I love Darkness, I'm not big on the PV, the bits where Jurina dances around in those silver pants and looks exactly like Matsumoto Jun terrify me (too much otoppoi for me )...live performances are so much better!

Answer: Futaridake no Parade because it's simple, cute, and I like the members, but UI has the most disappointing PVs of the year IMO. The a-side is way too overtly sexual for my taste, and the devil drama in the Team S video is just so cheesy

Answer: Furuhata Nao! She had an amazing year, got into senbatsu twice, had some great units, and did so much more in Team K than I expected her to. Plus she was invaluable on EbiFri!

Answer: Choco no Dorei juuuuuuust slightly edges out SK, which I love but is a bit more repetitive

I just love everything about this video, the setting, the costumes, the selection of members, and Aritan!

Although I'm super obsessed with Darkness and prefer Choco no Dorei as an a-side, Sanseii Kawaii has SO many great b-sides. The shirogumi/akagumi songs, michi wa naze, and koko de ippatsu are just fantastic, making SK my favorite release of the year overall.

Koko de Ippatsu - Zakuro comes close but this was just such a fun watch for me! I usually find the plot in 48 PVs extremely boring/cheesy but this was perfect.

Kitagawa Ryoha - the first KKS I've followed since Day 1 in my time as a fan.. it's a special bond

Might be slightly biased but Shibata Aya. She's like SKE's Cinderella, underrated by management but saved by her fans. Honorable mentions to Yamada Mizuho (from being the unpromoted 5th gen to centering two songs successfully), Furuhata Nao (not just for all her efforts but also maturing a lot), Matsumura Kaori (for choosing to stay as a KKS forever to take care of them and all her amazing G+ videos giving us an inside look at SKE).

Sansei Kawaii - even though I would prefer SKE to make darker/cooler/sexier songs as A-sides, this single just offered the best package. I enjoyed pretty much all the B-sides compared to liking just one from the other two singles, and the fact that the B-side PV lineups felt like having 3 undergirls was too perfect.

Answer: Overall, this is the year of Nannan, Nao , Yukko, Ryouha and of course Aya (#17 in senbatsu) i think. But if i have to say whose year is 2013 for real, i clearly choose my Oshi Takayanagi Akane. Ebi-friday center, Anmoku no Ryoukai, Tsubasa wo Kudasai, Gifu Ken Datte with Rumi.
Management pull back her position in senbatsu to 2nd and last row but in the same time, they also give her a slight push. I'm so happy for her

Big year for SKE imo, with three stellar releases. Whereas for me in 2012 Kataomoi streaked ahead of the other two, this year was very very close and I really had to think about it.

Answer: Utsukushii Inazuma - sheer wow. As for the B-sides, it looks like they ran out of money after spending up big on UI and whatever was left on Team S...

It's been a good year for SKE. I'm expecting big things over the next couple of years - sales are by no means the only measure of the group's success.

 

The admins usually create end-of-year release/member threads over on the AKB forum that include all 48-groups. But they rarely pop in on this forum and I figured we could use an SKE-centric one for all the SKE-oshis!

Thanks for all the input so far, everyone! Voting is so neck and neck between UI and SK! Every time I look at the poll the winner changes! And I love that everyone pretty much agrees that Darkness is an incredible song with an unfortunate PV.
