Keyakizaka46 (欅坂46)'s debut single "Silent Majority" (サイレントマジョリティー) makes 1st place in single ranking in TBS music show CDTV

Members of Nogizaka46 and Keyakizaka46 will appear early Wednesday morning 2016.04.27 in a live video broadcast on NicoNico, on the third anniversary of the "I love idols live!" show. The site will open at 4:50am and the show will start at 5 am, Japan time. I believe that's 4 pm Tuesday on the US east coast.

MC's will be Matsumura Sayuri and Nakata Kana of N46. Guests will be Akimoto Manatsu, Kawago Hina and Hashimoto Nanami of N46; and Oda Nana, Sugai Yuuka, and Habu Mizuho of K46.

You must join NicoNico (for free) to see the broadcast, and only premium members ($) will get the higher-quality stream. I haven't watched these in a while, but sometimes the stream used to get filled with premium and Japan-based members and overseas members had trouble getting in.

 

Keyakizaka46 will appear at a music festival near Nagasaki (Neru's home town) on Saturday, June 11. The Huis Ten Bosch Music Fes is held annually at the big Dutch-themed theme park. Other acts include AAA, Boys & Men, Sonar Pocket, Mako, Minmi, Takahashi Minami and others.

They will also (according to a blog post from Watanabe Risa) debut a new song that is a tie-up with the park. I expect this will just be a theme song or CM song, not a real single. No further info available yet. Berisa may or may not have spoken too soon.

 

Keyakizaka46 will appear on Saturday 14 May on the FujiTV music program Music Fair. There is supposed to be some sort of collaboration between them and Harada Tomoyo, the actress/singer who won an audition when she was 14, in 1982, and became an idol. The next year starred in the movie Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo, and sang its theme song. Looking at the YouTube clip of the 15-year-old Harada-san singing the theme song, you can't help thinking of Techi (and of Ikoma-chan).

The director has posted that the music was recorded on May 2. There are supposed to be two collaboration songs, one between Harada Tomoyo and Keyakizaka46, the other between Yamashita Kikuko and Ms. Ooja.

 

Keyakizaka46 will appear live on the NHK TV program Uta Kon on Tuesday 17 May at 7:30pm Japan time.

The day before that, they will take part in open recording of the NHK show Shibuya no Oto.

 

A CM (TV advertisement) for the Nagasaki theme park Huis Ten Bosch (see above) is supposed to come out Saturday in the Kanto area featuring Te wo Tsunaide Kaerou. Anouncement from PR Times Japan. We've known there was going to be some kind of tie-up song. Some people are disappointed that is apparently is not a new song. Whether the girls will appear in the CM is unknown, nor is it known if this will be a new version of the song.

Keyakizaka46 will appear live at the Tokyo Idol Festival on August 6th and 7th. This is a major festival, held on multiple stages in the Odaiba area, with almost 200 idol groups participating, and comes just before their second single is released on August 10th. The festival itself runs 5-7 August.

Among the 121 groups listed on the festival site are: i☆Ris / Afilia Saga / AyumiKurikaMaki / Kawano Marina / Sakura Gakuin / Denpagumi Inc. / Tokyo Performance Dolls / Dorothy Little Happy / 9nine / PASSPO☆ / BiSH / Yumemiru Adolescence (three of my favorites in bold type, lol).

 

Some of Keyakizaka46's performance last weekend at the Huis ten Bosch music festival in Nagasaki will be shown on the Japan Countdown TV show on Sunday evening, 19 June (21:30-22:00). The show is a half-hour long and there are at least two other topics, so we'll be lucky to get 5-10 minutes of the performance and visit. But I'd love to see Neru performing in Silent Majority, in her blue Hiragana Keyakizaka uniform. From now on, since she appears to be part of the front group in the new single, she will likely become part of the main Keyakizaka46.
