^ I've been learning Japanese with varying degrees of seriousness since age 6. XD And I'm still not confident in my ability to wander around Japan without a phrasebook handy.
the most common words that i used for my two trips to Japan was, "sumimasen", and "arigatou". I since, expanded on my vocabulary, but i will carry a phrase book this time. I think i need to rely on it, as there are so many words, and so many ways to say a statement. i think a little courage goes a long way, and i am sure that some japanese actually appreciate a "gaijin's(foreigner's), effort to try to speak/understand japanese using some phrase book. I know that i would appreciate a japanese person's effort in trying to speak english from a phrasebook if they were visitng/living here.
Just came back from a friend's house, we made bunny-shaped cookies the whole day. I called one of them "Mai" B-)
i have no plan for weekends because i'm a bit busy with preparations for my teaching practical next week.
AS OF NOW, I AM OFFICIALLY FREE FROM COMPULSORY EDUCATION. God I'm happy. XD No more science, EVER. I've already had a year without maths which I was sad about. D: And now I won't get to do French either. D: BUT APART FROM THAT.
READ MY FANFIC because you all know Ryo x Hana is OTP. http://community.livejournal.com/aisosh ... tml#cutid1
No big weekend plans here. Doing a lot of stuff with my dad, though. Tonight: Playing chess, listening to music (I'm turning him into a Nine Inch Nails fan ), watching a movie with him Saturday: Going downtown with him. Going to spend all night at the movies and then going out for coffee Sunday: Actual father's day! We're going out to dinner together when I get off work and we'll probably play more chess and watch another movie when we get home I spend more time with him than any of my friends from school
