Does Nogizaka need a vice-captain? Previously, they did well with only Reika as the Captain. When Manatsu took the captain position, I believe that was also temporary. Vice-captain Minami was prepared to take that position after all 1ki graduated. So, I don't think Nogi needs a vice-captain.

 

Personally, I don't think so, too.

If we look at the history of Nogizaka, they did 10 years without one. Ume was appointed vice captain in Novemebr of 2021. Manatsu said she was decided upon graduation at the start of 2022. The timeframe suggests that management knew of the 1ki graduation order and they put Ume in as vice captain to get a head start and some experience doing what a captain would do. The switch from Reika to Manatsu wouldn't have been complicated as it's a 1ki to 1ki. I would think 1ki to 3ki is a bit of a jump for everyone.

 

Do they need a vice captain? Yes, of course. There are lot more stuff happening in the background that we didn't see and captain/vice captain are not simply just a name. Don't compare Nogi with the past, now with more members in multiple different generations with different work/schedule and struggle/problems having 2 "official leaders" are better than 1. Instead of giving a single member the stress of the title, the vice is there to learn and help lessen the burden. Reika did well? Yes but she also "talk" a lot about it and so did Manatsu before, that tells something about it.

But I do think they should wait for a while after the new captain appointment before adding new vice captain.

 

I still think a vice-captain is not necessary. Following one leader is much easier to unify Nogi which currently has too many "inside groups".

Why they should wait? You said there are a lot of stuff happening in the background. Is it appropriate to get the vice-captain as soon as possible? That way they can lessen the burden the captain needs to carry from the beginning, especially during the current changing era.

 

1. The vice is there for support, especially when captain is not there at the time. And no, the captain will still be the leader at top,nothing can change that fact.
2.They need to wait yes, the captain still need to get used to the new environment and only after that will be ideal for additional support. Early hardship is needed for better leadership.

It's as expected, congratulations new Captain! From what we can see she definitely can lead Nogi properly too, they are in good hands.
