Currently I'm obsessed with the amazing melodic prog (silk) DJ Shingo Nakamura-san... Now I'm listening to his 4th album shot live on a boat along Tokyo-bay...

Heard of this one through music publications noticing the similarities with Won Kar-wai's work in the video, and I got hooked on the song immediately. This feels like an idol song doused in emo/shoegaze production.

And, well, he's indeed controversial and self-destructive, but 808s and Heartbreak still sound ahead of its time sixteen years after its release. Some recent events in my personal life brought me back to this beautiful track, whose influence can still be heard in most recent hip-hop releases.
