Which Members Speak Fluent English?

Bringing this thread back up, Since I was wondering about the other (newer) girls and how their English is.

Also another reason was because of the news of Yuko now living in New York to Study English (and staying their for 1 Year).

Come to think of it, as I was watching a STU roke program about the best ramen in chu-shikoku area I heard Shioi Hinako speaking some English fluently though I do not understand what she was speaking of lol.

Goto Rara can speak English well because her academic background. Rena also can speak English because she ever visit many countries.

 

Nakagawa Haruka attended an English class after moving to Indonesia but quit maybe because she got busier.

 

I found some new girls who either are returnee or were born abroad are pretty fluent in English. Some of them who get my attention are Sugiyama Natalie (she could even greet me in Indonesian) SKE48 9th gen kks, who was born in Dubai and Katsumata Saori (also speaks French in addition to English) Team K 3rd gen draft who lived in Belgium IIRC. I tried and tested their English skill at handshakes and both are decent.

 

As I posted in the Experiences thread, last Tuesday I had an HS with the soon-to-graduate SKE48 member Takagi Yumana and I was very surprised to find her speaking good English. Maybe not perfect but she was the only person apart from Goto Rara with whom I was able to have a decent conversation in English.

Awane Sayaka, Ishiyama Kaede, and Hoshino Miho...
They speak English fluently

 

If we include IZ*ONE members, it has become quite famous but their youngest member and center 14-year-old Jang Wonyoung haha
It's actually not perfect, but she can converse pretty decently lol

Maybe Okabe Rin can. Her illustrations in AKBINGO often contain English sentences. She's also rumored to attend the Ibaraki Christian University which has a good international progtam.

Definitely not fluent in English. She can say some sentences in, but pretty far from "can use it properly". I suppose she can decently read/write in English (by Japanese standard)

 

Akb48 taniguchi megu is certified English speaking but she doesn't practice it much

Nmb48 yoshino misaki speaks English and gaining fluency.

Stu48 kudo riko attended American kindergarten and pronunciation is good but I think she is losing fluency.

I've had 3 'real' and 2 online meetings with her since 2016 and she's never tried to speak any English with me (although it was still very nice to meet her each time!).

On Sunday I'll be using one of the tickets I got with NMB48's 24th single for an online talk with the Chouzetsu KawaE subunit of which Misaki is a member. I won't get very long with each girl but it'll be good to be able to quickly speak to her in English.

One 46G member who can speak fluent English is Kitagawa Yuri of Nogizaka's 4th Gen who was born in LA. I've never seen her speak more than a couple of words of English in videos but a few months ago I had an online talk with her and I'm happy to confirm that she can indeed speak fluently and perfectly.

 

I checked and Megu has reached grade 3 for English, which is not fluency but at jr high level for Japanese students. She has mentioned it at least 2 times, so she is somewhat proud of it. Once on nemousu i think, an in the following video at around 14:50. Let's help her practice! have a good time.

regarding other members, I had in-person handshake with graduated NMB48 Kawakami Rena, and she freely conversed in English during the brief meeting. so when I get back to Japan I def, want to visit her animal cafe.

I suspect any of the college students, like (again-NMB48's) Abe Wakana should be able to string a conversation together, if they wanted to.

 

I just saw AKB Nemousu promo in Youtube "Yuriri no I Love Englichu ♥".
I do think that Iwatate Saho has a decent English pronunciation in the skit.

 

then what was the show & episode were she went up to nao & said ''good morning, nao'' & mentioned that she's good at golf?
