Story
"AKB1/48 Idol to Koishitara..." is a love simulation game like never before. All 48 members of AKB48 appear, and the concept is that you have to choose 1 and reject the other 47. The setting is that all of the members love you (the player), and you have to dodge all of their confessions and attempts to get with you, ending up with 1 girl. The game includes over 10,000 pictures of the girls, 80 minutes of video showing the girls confessing their love to you, and full voice during dialogue sequences.

Most likely a dating sim. on the wallet rape though.

Dude...last time I played one, I didn't know Japanese; but now...I don't even have a PSP, LOL. Seriously...the thought of me playing a dating sim's kinda...ugh(?), but at the same time, I can't quite resist my (morbid?) curiosity to try the game out.

Oh man...since it's coming out in December, I'm sure it'll be a nice stocking stuffer for AKB fans out there.

if i understood it right, the game goes like this:

the concept is a "romance game".

at the start of the game, all the 48 47 members (no Erepyon... right?) "like"/"are in love " with you (the player).

you'll have to ~confess your love~ to the girls and do other lame stuff to pre-written messages (that the girls probably didn't even write themselves) while ~the girls~ will probably ~~fight~~ for ~~~your love~~~.

you'll go eliminating girls until you get just one and...

that's it. game over

^Well a few (possibly a lot, i don't really know) AKB members play love simulation games, are they sad? xD Those games don't even have the plus of it being the 48 girls of a real-life group that you follow, it's just random made up characters. I wanna play this just cause I think It'd be interesting to go through all the scenarios and stuff.

tbh i didn't even know this kind of game existed at all. so maybe that's why i'm so surprised (...if i think about it i shouldn't be surprised. porn games exist so why not lol).

that doesn't change the fact that that it's something extremely stupid though D=.

and actually, i think buying this knowing akb is a real idol group and that they are selling the image they are selling and that some people actually think of them as girlfriends makes it way worse than fictional characters. it's just too creepy.

the only reason i can think of someone buying this is because they want to read the girls ~saying~ they actually ~like them~ and enjoy living it that kind of dreamland where the girl(s) actually know about their existence and blah blah blah. it's just sad really.

...because you can't possibly really enjoy and find this kind of game ~fun and entertaining~. if you really like it then great, but 99% of the people who will buy this won't do it exactly for the same reason and that's what bothers me.

I don't see how dating sims are any different to the romance novels my mum reads, or the romantic comedies that women constantly flock to at the movies... it's silly escapism for an "ideal romance". I mean, I played the game Mass Effect to be the only hope to save the galaxy from alien invaders, does that make me some sort of crazy militant alien-hater?! It's escapism. The entire concept the Idol industry (let alone the entire entertainment industry) is built on.

If I bought this... it'd be my 4th PSP

^ Yes, it is beyond creepy - the fact that it's a dating sim where the people are real - but the fact that it's a dating simulation - the TYPE of game - I don't find anything wrong with that. Dating sim games have been around for a while, and are especially popular in Japan (they even have otome games, targeted for a female audience where you can pick a sexy sexy bishie to end up with).

But anyway, I digress. I'm definitely going to try and buy it. It's not the fact that I'm so obsessed with Takamina that I want to buy a video game just to fufill some sick fantasy that she's my significant other, but I love otome dating simulation games. I've been wanting to buy a PSP for a while, and now that AKB is releasing one just gives me the excuse to buy theirs. Plus I want the premier edition package, and even though it'll be like $400 I figure I could use Christmas money to help pay for it if I haven't saved up enough, plus it's not a horrible price considering A) It's AKB (instant wallet rape), B) you get a freaking limited edition AKB48 PSP and C) ton of other little bonus shits.

Aight, I'm now totally for the idea of playing in moderation with a clear definition of that line between socially acceptable and frighteningly disturbing.
