Can't say I am really surprised, the SDN group type does not fit within the AKB style.

Below is the translated announcement posted on SDN48’s official blog:


“It has been 2 years and 2 months since we formed SDN48, and we would like to thank you for your large support and warmhearted messages since the beginning.

In order to focus on each member’s career path, all the members of SDN48 will graduate from the group together.

Through their farewell concert on March 31st, 2012, the first chapter of SDN48 will conclude its role.

We are approaching the time where we need to think about our break point.

Though all of us will go on a new stage to fulfill our own dreams, please continue to support us.”

But.... it doesn't exactly specify that SDN is disbanding, does it? It just says all members will graduate. IDK, there might be a new generation of SDN members of something...

Get rid of SKE if you HAVE to get rid of something, all the popular members sing with AKB anyways, so why do we need two groups with the EXACT same style/concept?

Poor Nachu! She was my favorite. And I just know she will have a hard time finding other work...

Does anyone know if they will release another single? Or, fingers crossed, an album?

I'm just praying this is a really bad stunt.

The best I'm hoping for is that all gens graduate to the next stage literally (SDN2).

Just feels like too much has been set up to just let the group go. Nachu blogged that it'll be explained on next weeks Suppon, so hopefully we'll get something more solid.

More time for what? He wasn't putting that much energy in that group anyways, three singles in two years, only one stage.

Why? Fucking WHY? They are an awesome group, their singles NEVER disappoint me, and now they're gone.

They disappointed in sales, that is far enough in today's competitive world.

Yeah, disbanding a group whose previous single sold almost half a million units and keeping one whose latest single didn't even reach a fifth of that, really smart decision. Also, maybe you didn't realize, but NMB48 also shares the same "style/concept", while SDN didn't, maybe that is why AKB48, SKE48 and NMB48 are successful while SDN48 was a failure.

With their first single they had mentioned their goal was to break into the Korean industry. All three singles were aimed at that, and all three failed, so it seems like the logical consequence. This would mean there won't be anymore hidden graduations as SDN moving, for example, Mariko and Sayaka would graduate instead of being moved to SDN48.

the girls not doing their best or not selling enough is just bs. whoever is really responsible for this should just die. take responsibility for f***s sake.

Yeah, because he's really giving his all to HKT48, Team M and B for NMB, Team E for SKE...etc.

Most of those girls in SDN48 have talent, a different kind of talent that is different then they OMG-GENKIHAPPY! that is shown through most of the 48's families. They only had 3 releases and they weren't heavily promoted compared to AKB48 or even SKE48. And yeah, they only had one stage. That's why this whole thing is frustrating, they never had a -chance-. (They do sell out their shows though, so it's not like they aren't popular. )
