AKB48's Team 8. Announced on January 23, 2014, at the 1st day of the AKB48 Request Hour Setlist Best 200 2014. One person from each prefecture in Japan will be chosen as a member through an audition to join the new team. Applications began on January 24, 2014. Team 8 have the concept of "Idols who go meet you" and is sponsored by Toyota.
