The AKB48 Taiwan Audition was announced on December 7, 2014 during the HKT48's Taiwanese Concert. AKB48 Group would have auditions starting on April 17, 2015, for new members on Taiwan. This members will be active in Japan. To promote the auditions, Takahashi Minami, Mukaichi Mion and Kawamoto Saya visited Taiwan on April 16, 2015, during the "AKB48 Fan meeting in Taiwan". Several promotional videos were also uploaded on AKB48's Official YouTube channel. Girls from 11 to 23 years old could apply. From 2152 candidates, 170 girls were selected for the second round and 60 for the final round. The final results are scheduled to be announced on August.
