Masai Mayuu is an AKB48 Kenkyuusei.

Charm point: A mole by her mouth
Special Skills: Rhythmic gymnastics, flexibility. She can join her arms together and rotate them from her front side to her back.
Favorite AKB48 song: 365nichi no Kamihikouki
She did rhythmic gymnastics for eleven and a half years before joining AKB48.
She has a younger sister.
She hardly ever feels nervous.
The 17th Generation members describe her as kind, reliable, and older sister-like, while having a playful side too. She often helps other members learn choreography.
- Mayuu says that being kind and helpful is part of her nature, she was raised to be helfpul because she has the kanji for "kindness" (優) in her name.
- The 17th Generation members also call her "Masaru" because of this (優 can be read as "masaru", meaning "gentleness").
She would like to perform Heavy Rotation and 365nichi no Kamihikouki someday.

On May 4th, joined AKB48 as a member of its 17th Generation.
On May 12th, started sending mail to the AKB48 Private Mail service.
On May 18th, had her first and only appearance on AKB48, Saikin Kiita? ~Issho ni Nanka Yatte Mimasen ka?~ (AKB48、最近聞いた？～一緒になんかやってみませんか？～).
On June 4th, had her theater debut as a "Zenza Girl" (undercard) at the Idol no Yoake stage, alongside Hatakeyama Nozomi.
On June 6th, had her first appearance on AKB48 Sayonara Mouri-san (サヨナラ毛利さん).
On July 10th, had her first appearance on AKB48 Ii na Kenkyuujou (AKB48いーな研究所).
On July 28th, was identified as a close contact to Hasegawa Niina and Kohama Kokone, who tested positive for COVID-19. As such, she went into self isolation and refrained from activities.
On September 23rd, will have her first appearance on AKB48 no 17ki Kenkyuusei ga Rokeroke!! (AKB48の17期研究生がロケロケ！！).
