    Kenkyuusei: 00/10 [00.00%]

I don't have a comparison with this round because I missed it for Ne mo Ha mo Rumor (58th Single)

    * The percentage of tickets is based solely on sold-out slots. The actual number is probably higher but inaccessible to the public.

Note: I put Team 8 members in their concurrent teams because that's how they're listed on the online talk website.

Nothing you said negates what i said tho lol. Whether they have 14 or 140 members, the group comparisons I made are still there. Even groups like MM even while entering their "dark, unpopular" days in platinum era, still had girls wanting to join the group, like our Yukirin lol. AKB is the same. Right now, they might not be as popular and they may have more mouths to feed than Morning Musume, but they're still relevant enough to sell 200k+ sales, add more girls, host more tv shows, and have the determination to continue on, just like MM's platinum era did. The era of idols is much different to what it was 15 or 5 years ago, so I suspect it won't take AKB as long to regain relevancy, especially with their marketing getting better on social media.

This single feels like a token release rather than an anticipated one after 8 months. Sure they still doing the dance-centered concept but the title track borrows a little too much elements from Keyaki (that speed talking chorus) and the B-sides are mediocre at best.

About that AKB and MM comparison, MM (and other H!P groups) is notoriously conservative when marketing a new single. I doubt AKB will descend to that level, considering they have more resources and exposures. I wonder if doing multiple releases a year like pre-2018 can help them (consistent media appearances, lots of music and events) to regain sales and relevancy, because one single a year doesn't ignite much discussion and engagement imo.

    48G itself.
With this single, AKB48 made their 46 consecutive No.1 on Oricon chart.
They are the female artists who most consecutive No.1 debut and whose singles get most No.1 on Oricon weekly chart.
    https://jshowbiz.com/english/component/k2/item/15542-akb48-59th-single-oricon-weekly-chart.html
Currently, Guiness World Records lists KinKiKids as the artist with "most consecutive Japanese No.1 singles from debut". Their number is 44 singles as of 28/03/2022.
    https://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/world-records/most-consecutive-no1-singles

Someone should submit AKB48 to GWR.

Hii-chan's strict! but I like it, this strengthens her image that wants AKB48 to improve more using what she learned.
She missed some though, like when Yuiri made the error a few others did too. Poor Maho was trying her best.

From what I have read (though correct me if I'm wrong), Hinatazaka's 6th single sales were lower compared to the 5th single because fewer meet and greet tickets (which we all know make up most of 48/46 sales) were available to buy overall, not because of covid or because of some decline trend. For some reason the 6th single meet and greet slots were shortened from 1.5 hours long to 1 hour long which meant each slot had roughly 1/3rd fewer tickets. According to my ballpark calculation the 6th single simply had around 20-25% fewer tickets available for fans to buy compared to the 5th single. So even with Hinatazaka completely selling out every slot and every ticket for the 6th single (which happened by the late rounds) their sales figures were still be below the 5th single because there were fewer overall tickets for sale, not because of some decline trend or covid.

And to top it off, their 7th single meet&greet tickets recently went on sale and they completely sold out all slots again but even faster, selling everything by the 4th round despite having 30 more slots. I wouldn't call that unstable or a decreasing trend. They'd just keep on selling more and more if there were more tickets/slots available to buy or if there were more members.
