Great choice of picture for the Wall, Waffles. [rock]

Looking again at the overall senbatsu results, not really thrilled with it. Pretty underwhelming. But Mariko-sama and The Gish being in the Top 3? I couldn't possibly ask for more.

It would be good to have a UG for this single or The Gumi but pretty sure it'll be Regular Senbatsu + Team Songs again. Which I'm totally okay with. :awesome:

So Krusha said in chat that apparently tiebreakers couldn't be done because Kobayashi Marina is 15, and couldn't continue with entertainment-related activities after 9PM.

But here are the positions so far for AKB48's 24th Single to be released 12/7.
    1. Shinoda Mariko (center)
    2. Fujie Reina
    3-4. Kobayashi Marina, Minegishi Minami
5-8. Akimoto Sayaka, Sato Sumire, Oya Shizuka, Maeda Ami
    Bottom 8:
Hikawa Ayame, Umeda Ayaka, Kasai Tomomi, Kuwabara Mizuki, Kojima Haruna, Yamaguchi Yuki, Yamauchi Suzuran, Kitahara Rie

This is assuming they do it they same way they did last year.

    Senbatsu Breakdown by Team
Team A - Shinoda Mariko, Oya Shizuka, Kojima Haruna, Maeda Ami
Team K - Fujie Reina, Minegishi Minami, Akimoto Sayaka, Umeda Ayaka
Team B - Sato Sumire, Kasai Tomomi, Kitahara Rie
    Team 4 - Yamauchi Suzuran
    Team KKS - Kobayashi Marina
    Team S - Kuwabara Mizuki
    Team N - Yamaguchi Yuuki
NMB 1st Gen (KKS) - Hikawa Ayame

    Looks pretty balanced doesn't it?

    By Generation just for kicks.

1 - Minegishi Minami, Kojima Haruna
    1.5 - Shinoda Mariko
2 - Akimoto Sayaka, Umeda Ayaka, Kasai Tomomi
4 - Fujie Reina, Oya Shizuka
    5 - Kitahara Rie
7 - Sato Sumire, Maeda Ami
    9 - Yamauchi Suzuran
    10 - Kobayashi Marina
    SKE 1 - Kuwabara Mizuki
NMB 1 - Yamaguchi Yuuki, Hikawa Ayame

    Original B noticeably absent. :fp:
Both 6th gens came 1 away from making it.

Ah yes, that rule. But at least they could still decide on 5th -> 8th, as her possible ranking (3rd or 4th) doesn't really affect the other 4 in Top 8?
Of course, I'm not sure about the other 8 in the senbatsu lineup... (in terms of age).

I see that law in Japan continues to be the bane of my life =.= It was the reason I couldn't get a 2-shot with Mayuyu, and now it's still haunting me by not letting them do tiebreakers. I curse whoever made up that 9 pm rule, please trip and die or something. Thanks for the the update, at any rate, it makes a lot of sense.

Out of the 16 senbatsu, I recognize 11 of them. By team breakdown, it really does seem fair, though as usual Team B has less than A and K xD

I like the results. Pretty balanced. Congratulations to all who made senbatsu!
Feels like there was less rage this year, which is also nice to have. :hehe:

    Marikosama, Congratulations!!!

Miichan ♡ :^O^: , Haruna, Yuppi, Ranran, Reinyan, Kitarie, Chiyuu...

I am so pleased with this ... [rock]

Congratz to Haruna as well for being the only girl to be senbatsu in every single AKB single so far, that's gotta count for something. :awesome:

It's so japanese of them to make that rule haha. I'm 18 years old (almost 19 because of a late b-day) and my grandma tells me i have to be home by 9 [hehe]

oh and that totally sucks about the mayu thing

I'm just glad Maeda Atsuko and Matsui Jurina didn't make it tbh. I love them and they are awesome, but they are default centers in every other single, it's cool to let the other girls shine.

Also, Mariko-cama winning means that it will probably be a non cute song, which I'm really excited about!

And I don't think she's graduating lol we've been speculating about it for 3 years now xD

Really excited to see what kind of song Aki-P will pick for Mariko. I am very happy for her. Nyan Nyan is a true genius BTW.

I hope it's something fierce or sexy...a song like CnJ doesn't fit her...

Hoping for something sexy yet energetic and a bit funny. Mariko to a T.

Ikr? If they were giving her a graduation single, they would just do it instead of using Janken. Which... I totally hope they do when she (eventually) does graduate. :awesome:

    Congrats to Mariko-sama. However, ...
Kojiharu is the one who makes history. Now, she's the only member who is senbatsu for every single of AKB so far. It scares me a bit, this lazy queen sure is lucky :D
Congrats to Miichan and Sayaka as well. They deserve this :inlove:
Obviously, Sayaka is always ignored by management but I guess they will pay more attention to her for defeating the Ace (sarcasm) :p
I don't know if anyone think the same but if Acchan or Jurina won, I certainly wouldn't know how to react. That would be plain weird :fp:
I have nothing against them but as they are management's no.1 favorites, suspicions would naturally arise

Okay so according to TGSK blog, they did playoffs for #3-#8 backstage after the event.

    The results:
    1. Shinoda Mariko (center)
    2. Fujie Reina
    3. Minegishi Minami
    4. Kobayashi Marina
    5. Akimoto Sayaka
    6. Oya Shizuka
    7. Maeda Ami
    8. Sato Sumire

    9-16.
Hikawa Ayame, Umeda Ayaka, Kasai Tomomi, Kuwabara Mizuki, Kojima Haruna, Yamaguchi Yuki, Yamauchi Suzuran, Kitahara Rie

So if I were to guess how it went backstage, it looks like:
    Miichan beat Marina.
Sayaka beats Suuchan and Shiichan beats Aamin, then Sayaka beats Shiichan and Aamin beats Suuchan.
