    Sakura no kini narou was the best first day sale ever since Oricon started reporting sales daily.(around 2009)

    Ahaha, I'm not disappointed in the slightest about these amazing sales; it's just we were just a few thousand or hitting a million on the first day, and that would be quite a momentous achievement <3 for the Senbatsu Election '11 single to get that record.
    I suppose this is AKB's prime. Next year, we'll either be significantly higher or lower, I expect...? Or maybe the same. I don't know what I'm saying. Well, what I'm saying is, this is the single that I think the million a day SHOULD have been.

    Meh, people have to keep in mind this is a senbatsu single too. People are more inclined to buy 3/4 copies of the CD to vote for their favorite then buy 1/2 copies like they normally would with a normal single.

    Speaking of which, how do they even get paid from the CD without all the procceds and stuff? [think]

    Every who participated in the album gets 1/48th or 1/HoweverManyPeopleParticipatedInTheAlbum?

    Or more popular members get more?

    They would receive nothing. The only people who would get profits from the CD releases would be the shop selling it, the distributors, the record label, the management agency, and the songwriter.

    Since the girls are simply singing someone else's work, they don't see a yen of the profits. Given the way the Japanese music talent industry works, they most likely receive a salary from their management agency + probably extra if they do work outside of AKB48.

    1 million is definitely not a problem.

    Now come to think of it, given this result, I wonder how many votes will be cast considering not everyone who bought actually votes.

    Their previous election single sold 560k in the first two weeks(the voting period).

    And about 400k votes were given. I wonder how many of these were given using other ways than buying the cd?
