was kinda hoping the surpass KwT but yeah..

 

Tbh, This is their first drop in SSK single first day sales that is clearly visible(in the 100k mark). Nothing to sweat still.

 

Lol'ed at the end where Kojiharu bow beautifully and Paruru on the right doesn't give a damn and stay in her 'comfy' position

 

I don't know of it's special to the AKBINGO perf but looks like they tweaked the choreo again. I'm not talking about the special focus on team 8 part but rather the hand motions in the chorus, and towards the end etc.

Good first day sales! But then again this is a voting single after all.

Well, the 1M streak is still safe so that should be good enough.

 

Don't forget the Oricon 20+ is equal to 20 rule, the sales could easily be 1.5m+ due to bulk buying but Oricon isn't accurately reporting the sales.

 

When did they start this rule? Or was it always in play?

I'm not sure if it's having effect on the sales reports of any other artist than AKB48, so it seems just a touch biased against AKB as a business practice. Unless other artists also have a gimmick for boosting sales that requires people to buy several copies at once...

From what I heard other artists have event freebies, photocards, even concert ticket perks that come with their CDs so I don't think only AKB is affected by this new rule.

 

Good! I'm glad - AKI-P needs to be DISCOURAGED from pulling "ego stunts" in the future....Unless he really doesn't care about the Million Streak anymore. BTW- the Streak is gone (as per Takamina's song) - "Melody" sold 1 million & this is the 2nd consecutive single to do so....hardly a "streak". The real test is if the Late Summer single (Election Senbatsu) sell's over 1 million - that would be a 3-Peat....4 in a row I think is a "Streak"....just saying.

 

No it is not. There has been an unbroken chain of million sellers going back to Sakura no Ki ni Narou. So yes there is a "streak".

INB4 "First Day". That is a fan construct, not industry metric. Any single/album that moves a million copies is a million seller. Does not matter if it is the first day, week, or 6-months after release. A million is a million in all cases.

 

The million seller streak was never broken.
But yes, the one that most everyone cares about the most is the 1m/1st week streak, which was broken. But so what, it doesn't mean we all stop caring (including AKB management) and just give up and phone it in or whatever. A new streak has started and is going on now (and yes 2 in a row = a streak). This is my least favorite single since so long, but the ssk single will always get over 1m so that was never in doubt. I'm sure the next single will have great songs on it, as will the one after. At least for me, a bad single may come once every couple years. The sky is not falling though...

 

I'm afraid that Rara and Rikatan would be pummeled by Kano and Maho in the final rankings.

 

@Rurouni only thing I can think of is shipments. So basically there are like over 2 million copies around Japan waiting to be bought lol
