I love how they started to sing RIVER. When on a sea. LOL Takamina's expression when she found the chest. Haruu is awesome. Such a boss. Poor Mariko and Miyu. They need more conditioning on AKBingo Muchaburi punishment games. Takamina trying to get directions is hilarious. All the food they're eating...it looks so good. [shock] Aw, the letters written to Takamina are so sweet.

Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't season 8 start on the 13th and not the 3rd? According to the preview after the special.

 

Ah, Cairns. Wasn't that long ago (4 months now? Or 2 months before filming?) that I was there for a day. No Melbourne visit makes me a sad bro *wishful thinking*

The bogans and locals' (and the odd non-Aussie tourist) expressions were pure gold. Absolute confusion and "WTH is this Asian girl on about?" Could've been smarter like Haruu+Miyu, and asked the Japanese tourists around the Esplanade (then again, they mightn't have a clue where the things were either).
On a related note, Takamina must be pretty damn "vertically challenged" when the camera showed her talking to those two Aussie schoolgirls...

Of course - it's an Aussie BBQ. Not really, actually - where's the lamb, the barbie and the slabs of VB? And where's the damper, the lamingtons, the good ol' meat pie and the Vegemite? I digress...
At least they brought out the witchetty grubs. (and Haruu, eating bush tukka like a boss)

Best bit? The background Japanese tourists during the night market segment...

Takamina is 20. Haruu~ is 19. That's two people over 18. The other three aren't, too bad for them...

Melbourne (or Sydney) is approx. 2000km away from Cairns. And it's not like we know beforehand they are about to go to Australia anyway... unlike you SG kids with a freakin' AKB cafe, shop AND a theater

 

^ mate but in japan the legal age for drinking is 20 so takamina can drink vb but the rest of the girls can't as even though the girls were in down under they still follow the japanese laws when they are in overseas as i remember when some of the ske girls come to s'pore 2 mths ago 2 of the girls cannot work after 9 pm as they still considered as minor according to japan's labour laws even though they were in s'pore

 

Oh really? But I think that such would only apply to the scope of Japanese labour laws (does it even have jurisdiction in a foreign country e.g. Singapore anyway?) and not something as broad as legal drinking age limits. I'm pretty sure I've heard of incidents where underage (defined in regards to drinking age limits) kids go overseas just so they can take advantage of lower age limits. Same with other grey areas like prostitution and drugs, but that's another story...

(Maybe an international law expert can clarify this for us )

 

Idols have nothing to do with international laws but with local perception.

So: they will keep with what is legal in Japan.
Unless its about the legal limit abroad being higher (like underage girls performing on stage after a certain time) then they will abide by that law there.

 

Of course they took advantage of the cheap Jetstar tickets to Cairns...
