Good question!
I'm not 100% sure..but I'm fairly sure it goes something like this:

No Sleeves - (name)
= ノースリーブス (name in katakana)
= nō surī busu (katakana romanized)
= no three busu (suri sounds like three)
= no 3 b

If you say is really fast with a Japanese accent it does sound like 'no 3 b', to me.

So I stumbled into this really awesome no3b fan video. It's basically a collection of hilarious sound clips from their radio shows put together with awesome visuals. XD

Seriously guys, if you know Japanese, you really need to listen to their radio show!! It's always LOL-worthy.
And even if you don't understand Japanese, listening to them going crazy is usually fun enough.

Salutations!

A first post dedicated to No Sleeves who got me into AKB48 through Mendol. I think I did watch a few PVs to see just what this group was all about and loved Aitakatta. Yes! I was Takaboy-baited. Although now that I look at the timeline I became a fan in 2009... >.< Right before RIVER came out. I've been a lurker here for months now and since people seem to be joining everyday so I felt like it was time. I also wanted to thank people for translating blogs so I figured it was easier since I don't use LJ often. Anyway, enough rambling - I'm glad I'll be able to comment and converse with you instead of doing it all in my head.

Also, need to figure out how to make myself a decent avatar and signature when I have the time.

I was beginning to think maybe I should've started in a girl's thread instead. I like all of no3b and their album totally rocked. Push comes to shove if I had a choice and expendable income, I would get Takamina's version for everything.

Thanks for letting me know about the thread. I posted with my fence-sitting answers. It is after all really hard to choose favorites!

Well, it sounds like you're a Takamina Oshi to me now.
The Takamina girl's thread is probably the busiest girl's thread in this forum.

Yeah, keeping up with AKB merchandise is hard on the budget, I can't really pursue it as well till I graduate and get a job. But still I manage to squeeze some cash out sometimes and most of the AKB stuff I own is no3b related (mostly Miichan versions tho ) because I want to support my favourite hardworking girls.

WOW ! So excited about kotodama no onnatachi sequel. I know this just mini drama and only have 4 episodes, but everything about no3b always make me excited. Actually, I'm waiting for mendol sequel or a new drama as funny as mendol, but this ok for now. I'll just wait for more dramas from no3b then. Oh, so excited
