Re: [ALBUM] AKB48 x TKWO [BraBan AKB48!] (13/06/12) omg, how is that girl able to carry all those CDs and a trumpet. Nice idea... Though I know many members here would love a warranted Piano Cover album instead haha. Y'know the piano medly during most PV credits.
Re: [ALBUM] AKB48 x TKWO [BraBan AKB48!] (13/06/12) Just in case, none of the girls are involved in this. at least from what I know. Edit: Pre-order on Amazon.
Re: [ALBUM] AKB48 x TKWO [BraBan AKB48!] (13/06/12) Thanks for sharing the info. It's interesting and the music arrangement is pretty decent. And I love the cover. The girl kinda look like Acchan
Re: [ALBUM] AKB48 x TKWO [BraBan AKB48!] (13/06/12) Nice project, I'm sure it will sound great. I must admit I'm really looking forward to their version of Iiwake Maybe. A brass band version should be awesome!
Re: [ALBUM] AKB48 x TKWO [BraBan AKB48!] (13/06/12) I love instrumental releases in general, so I might purchase this one The medley uploaded onto ytb sounds amazing, I'm already in love [clap]
Re: [ALBUM] AKB48 x TKWO [BraBan AKB48!] (13/06/12) Wow, I didn't expect there to be a thread dedicated to this little gem. Nice to see others taking notice of this CD. So I just got this off the Japanese iTunes Store (2000JPY), and let's just say that I'm thoroughly impressed. The Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra is very famous amongst the wind orchestra/marching band/symphonic band community, and is well-known for their very wide and varied repertoire, including a long, long history of performing and recording instrumental covers of the latest pop hits (sometimes introducing their own unique spin on the song) lasting all the way back to 1972, and they've continued that streak with this album purely dedicated to covering AKB48 songs. No matter if it's the trumpet section proudly belting out uplifting, catchy renditions of "Heavy Rotation" and "Gingham Check"'s choruses, or a flute-glockenspiel combo kicking off "Ponytail to Shushu"'s opening bars, or saxophones smoothly serenading to the tune of "Give Me Five!", or a smooth, relaxing, jazzy take on "Sakura no Ki ni Narou", or the emotional tones of the oboes in "Sakura no Shiori"'s opening tunes, or even a snazzy, jazzy flute improvisation and drum solo during "Flying Get"'s bridge; Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra continues to infuse their own unique brand of brass into AKB48's timeless classics. Even "Beginner", a song that few would expect to be suitable for orchestral renditions, doesn't disappoint. TKWO manages to turn what was a heavy, powerful electronic song into a piece that retains its original feel and tone, while spicing it up and adding a unique impact in a way only a brass band can. All in all, this is a great addition to the collection of any AKB48 fan who happens to appreciate orchestral and brass band music. It's worth a good listen, and I would definitely recommend getting a copy if you have the spare change after the Sousenkyou.
Re: [ALBUM] AKB48 x TKWO [BraBan AKB48!] (13/06/12) I haven't bought it yet just because I completely forgot about it.
