One i watched recently was Gyarusa or Gyaru Circle
    It was HILARIOUS

it was made a couple years back i think
has a few models and mari from MM in it

i dont know if anyone has posted anything on it in this thread yet
but its about the trials and tribulations of these Shibuya gyaru
Each episode focuses on a specific key member, and they have to learn to find themselves, with the help of an unexpected friend...

    lol its so funny
    random and silly but funny

I liked her tomboy AKA HOT look. :D It's when she took off her hat that she started to look a bit................ different.

I agree with what you said earlier that Japanese dramas can be really sad, but they can also be really funny. GAL Circle, which was mentioned, had me laughing out loud for several occasions. I remember some running scenes that were quite funny and Geronimo III killed me with his boomerang references.

i thought GalCircle was an odd one, other than really cute hot girls in that one, i didn't really follow the plot...it was different.

There is a lot of good j-dramas out there, some good, some not so good, and yes they can be addicting.

Love j-dramas, they have been a huge help in learning japanese too.
definately think life was my favorite of last seasons batch, prolly uta hime most has my attention of the current lot.still, nothing is standing out of the crowd yet for me in the current lot of shows, but somehow no matter what J-dramas never fail to entertain me.
i liked gal circle too :) erika sawajiri was great in that. anyone else seen/ liked shimokita sundays? prolly my favorite J-drama of all.

not sure if this is a sequel?....but cannot be matched with the performances of the main characters, especially Juri Ueno.

^Unfortunately, it's not a full series Just a two-night New Years special

Was anyone else bothered by the fact that the Anime and and Live Action series had slightly different plot lines?

The Live Action series was freaking awesome. Even with the cheesy airplaine crash special effects. OTOH, the Anime series' opening and ending songs were better.

havent seen the anime yet, but i did watch LA, the cheesy crash effect was made to be funny, because I'm sure the company does have the fund for some special CG effects
