she's turning legal this year! i hope they (tv asahi) correct that, unless that's supposed to mean that she's portraying a 17 year old character.

 

I think her character's 17 years old, not Ms. Haruna herself.

Does anyone know the plot to this?

 

From what I can deduce from the title of the drama and the fact that Haruna is the main character, the story goes like this:

Haruna is a schoolgirl who gets bullied for being a bit dopey, and occasionally gets her lunch stolen and her belongings destroyed by those in her class. One day in an attempt to stop this from happening, she leaves her stuff (lunch, cash, personal belongings) in a coin operated locker at a train station 5 minutes away from her school. However at lunchtime she realises she left her lunch in the locker, and must survive the rest of the school day hungry. After school, a starving Haruna makes it back to the locker, only to find out that the locker has been sabotaged by someone, making it impossible for her to open. Thus the story of the coin-operated locker begins. Join Haruna as she tries to open the locker while fighting starvation. What adventures will she encounter on this journey? Will she be able to eat her lunch before time runs out and she dies a slow and painful death? Who exactly is the one who sabotaged her locker? Find out the answers to all these questions and more on the next episode of A Coin-operated Locker Story.

I'm guessing the show will have a format similar to 24. Where each episode will depict a 1 hour period of Haruna's life.

i was reading that post and i know i understand very little japanese, but what i read from the official site vs the story you wrote made my face grow weirder and weirder by the second.
