[DRAMA] Rokudenashi Blues (Kitahara Rie) - 2011.07

The classic boxing manga “Rokudenashi Blues” by Morita Masanori is reportedly being adapted as a live-action television series this summer. Originally serialized between 1988 and 1997, the story tells of a high school delinlquent named Maeda Taison who aims to become a world boxing champion.

Complete details are not yet known, but Gekidan EXILE will apparently be involved. Omasa Aya has been chosen as the story’s heroine Chiaki, while AKB48 member Kitahara Rie will play the part of a classmate named Kazumi.

The drama will start on July 6.

Rie doesn't play such a major character, but it's always nice seeing members acting. [rock] I read some information about her character. And she'll be playing one of the guys' girlfriend. Super excited.

I've never heard of the manga but I'm really excited for Rie to get more exposure! This is great news!!

Joking aside though I'm happy for Rie, it's nice to get roles outside of AKB, even if they arn't the biggest, if she is going to be a Yankee, let's hope she plays one that can actually kick some ass, will be a nice change for her!

I did some research to see the lucky guy who gets to play Rie's boyfriend. And it's this one. He's actually two years younger than her. lol. And on the official site, he's the short guy with the red/brown hair, lol. And got this piece of information about his character from wikipedia:

I seriously can't wait to see his interactions with Rie now. Even more excited!

Oh, what's this? Interesting. I will definitely tune in to this.

Not only for Rie but for Aya too. Been a fan of her since Taiyo to Umi no Kyoshitsu (where Acchan had a role) and Mei-chan no Shitsuji (where Haruna had a minor role). XDD

And boxing, you say? I guess when I'm not ogling at Rie and Aya, I can sort of get into the storyline (Pacquiao fan-and not just because I'm Filipino).

 

Don't know if anyone actually read through all of Sasshi's 201 blog posts, but she mentioned in it that she'd have a small part in this drama too. ...And might be beaten up 'cuz that's how all of her drama characters have been up until now
