Graduation announcements thread

After shuffle and not counting graduating members, this will be the team count:

• Team A: 18
• Team K: 17
• Team B: 19
• Team 4: 18

That's still more than the 16 members per team average we usually expect. I don't think they're running low on members

Actually, my count comes up to 72 members but with @Mana's post saying there's 83 members and 8 (now 9) pending graduations, we should have 74. Not sure which members I'm missing but still more than 16 per team.

 

My question is, why AKB keeps mantain all these members even if sakamichi groups are being more succesful and are making more money with fewer members? Wouldn't it be smarter for AKB to follow more the Sakamichi path and get an amount of members more similar to Nogizaka (I wouldn't say Sakurazaka or Hinatazaka amount cause I know it's too small for AKB)?.

Let's see how many members 17th gen will have. I would keep no more than 12 if I was management, no matter how many girls are graduating. AKB should focus more on quality over quantity if it wants to become more relevant again at this point.

 

You can't refill Team 8 with 17th gens.

I remember that a few years ago the number of announcements would rise around the end of March because that's when the Sousenkyo application period was over. Members who didn't apply were expected to announce graduation and so a lot of them did. Dunno if this has changed since they cancelled the sousenkyo tho.

 

It's simply because April is the start of the 'new year' where people go back to work/school, so there's a lot of turnover for new starters (college grads) and new work positions to fill. In an idol groups case it could be wanting to focus on studies or to go into another job role of their aspirations, that's all.

 

Mizukami Rimika from HKT48 Team H has just announced graduation:

Her graduation performance will be on 3/29 and her final activity date will be on 4/3.

 

Damn, that was the next Mikurin with olive skin and more sasssssss~hhh, so much potential.

 

HKT48 are taking a real hit on that day.
