It was all very simple - although there was about 50 people in front of me in the queue at 11:00, there was 20 sales staff working so my turn came quickly (and I had a staff member who spoke good English).

This post from Hiichan deserved a translation.

"AKB48 Team 8 Soukessan Matsuri 9-nenkan no Kiseki" 2023.4.30

Team 8 was my starting point and everything of my youth.

The days when we all sweated toward the same goal, the days when we laughed together, and the day when I went back to Tochigi crying in the Shinkansen out of frustration - all of it has led me to where I am today.

When having a hard time, I listened to "Yume e no Route" and encouraged myself repeatedly.
"流した汗の量も誰かが見てるよ"
"The amount of sweat you’ve shed, will be noticed by someone"

I was having a hard time admitting to myself what I was and what was right or wrong, and I kept worrying a lot.
However, believing these words, I pushed myself to keep going,
I kept running desperately.

To my past self, thank you for never giving up and working hard no matter what.
Thank you for showing me countless wonderful sceneries.
I want to express my gratitude from the bottom of my heart.

I would also like to thank Akimoto-sensei for sending us such an important message through the song "Yume e no Route". Once again, I am filled with gratitude.

I was deeply moved to be able to sing this precious song as the center for the last time, and it will be an unforgettable memory.

I will continue to do my best every day with a humble attitude and a sense of gratitude to be able to say "Thank you" to myself in the future and to remain proud of myself.

Being selected as the "AKB48 Team 8 Tochigi Prefecture Representative" and meeting the best friends, staff, and fans was truly a happy 9 years.

Thank you for lots of love, support, and encounters.

I love you all!
