I finally watched the recent AKBingo! and YAY PIED KAREN
AND LOL at her forgetting almost every single thing with Mayuyu
I'm really glad she got a lot of screentime and she was basically nuts

Indeed! I can't wait to see the LOD! I think it is going to be so much fun!

EDIT: I just watched Team A's PV and I was really disappointed. Not just about the limited screentime for Karen, but in general for the less popular members. I mean Karen got like 3 seconds in the entire PV.. WHAT?!

 

Yeah,it's difficult to give everyone plenty of attention when there are so many girls. Fortunately she gets more screentime in the Undergirls MV.

 

She getting 3 seconds in the Team A vid makes me want to go out and watch Manatsu no Sounds Good.

Yeah, and it's a good thing she got more time in the UG vid.

BTW, I can't wait to watch her birthday LOD, and before that she and Mayuyu doubled-teamed Takamina.

 

I'm actually fine with her screen time in team A's PV (even Annin doesn't have much either). She looks really cool in it.

Was finally able to watch Karen's seitansei kouen. Loved it!

Karen looked great during the unit songs, double dipping on Kuroi Tenshi, and with the focus on her (and some Yukarun and Mariyannu) it probably is one of my favourite LOD's so far. She seemed to have so much fun, especially during AKB Festival and when Tanochan interrupted the final greeting and she got to blow out the candles. Her breaking down in tears after the letter turned out to be from Akimoto Sayaka was just too cute. I never really thought about it, but she might resemble Sayaka a fair bit when it comes to performing, her directness and presence. Not the least of the original members to get such a supporting letter from. [clap]

If anyone is wondering how the future of AKB will look like without the senbatsu members then this also is a great LOD to watch. Without the presence of Takamina, Mariko, Mayuyu and Yui and with new generation girls on the very first line: Takahashi Juri, Oshima Ryoka, Tano Yuuka, and other young gen girls at more prominent positions than normal it is a good show piece for how Team A might look in the coming years. Although some MC's were a bit rough the performance felt really good and fresh to me.

 

Well team A pretty much gets the best performers of the young gens lol. ie. Ryoka, Tanochan, Karen, Izurina.
Too bad their setlist falls a bit boring and doesn't showcase much of their capability for me, though.

Makes sense, as I'm watching it right now. It's a good preview of what the future would be like should the big-name veterans move on, as those girls pick up pertinent skills important to a successful nightly performance.

With her looking up at the veterans for inspiration, it remains to see if Karen could pick up the strength, stamina and willpower of Sayaka, the charisma of Mayuyu, and possibly the leadership skills and professionalism of Takamina. If she could accomplish those goals, then in the hands of the next gen I hope the group would endure for years to come.

 

Anyone watched this week AKBINGO yet?
We have another Karen's moment there with Kuroko Basket manga, lol
